The worst ten years ago was Thomas Friedman of the NYT gushing about how great China was because they got things done.

But right now we have a system that can only produce suboptimal solutions.”

IOW, they make the trains run on time.

Thanks for that information - I hadn’t seen it before. Mind you, I had an immense amount of contempt for Friedman due to his complete and total idiocy on the Mideast (a place about which he claims to be an expert). This is icing on the cake, and shows his true colors (mostly red).
