Wisconsin voters are warming to Trump, despite impeachment

“I went to the election. I chose not to vote for president. I signed the everybody sucks campaign,” she deadpans.

But in the years that followed, Goetz, 40, has gradually moved from “never Trump” to “probably Trump”
.
.
.
One day after the rally, Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale tweeted out data gathered from people who registered for the Milwaukee event: Of the 20,395 registered, 15,738 said they were voters from Wisconsin, 57.9 percent said they were not Republican and 4,313 said they didn’t vote in 2016.

Some of those 4,313 nonvoters will be people just like Goetz, who didn’t like either candidate four years ago, but have since edged toward Trump. And these voters could make the difference not just for Wisconsin, but the entire nation.

I think it's BECAUSE of impeachment. Americans have a strong sense of "fairness", and when they see someone subject to a Stalinist Show Trial, where he could call NONE of his own witnesses, that strikes a nerve.

I think that even people who don't particularly care for Trump's combative style, still warm to him because of "Freisler" Nadler and "Beria" Schiff.

I am a SE Wisconsin resident. I am planning events for the week of this upcoming democratic convention.

3 am fire alarm pulling in area motels has been suggested.

Look, many Republicans did not vote for Trump because they did not like or trust him to keep his campaign promises.

Other Republicans reluctantly voted for Trump, hoping he would keep his campaign promises, but more as a vote against Hillary.

Both of these groups are now firmly in Trump’s camp. He has proven his word is good and he governs the way he campaigns.

Then you move to the independents. Some voted for Trump because Hillary was repulsive while others did not vote at all.

Trump now has their support as well. Those that reluctantly voted for Trump have had their vote affirmed by a man who keeps his campaign word.

Some of those that did not vote for anyone now see Trump’s word is good, his results are solid.

Trump has not lost any support, only gained it.

On the other hand, what do Democrats offer?

Socialism, pandering to illegal trespassers and taxpayer funded transgendered surgery....not a winning campaign platform in a strong peacetime economy.

Interesting. I had written off the idea of winning Wisconsin again because of how exorcised the loonies seem to be up there.

The Democrat chances hinged on accomplishments of the past three years. So what have they done? In fact, if you toss in cities and states run by Democratic political figures....what have they done?

If Trump were to use the billion in campaign funds (he’ll hit that by mid-summer), he can talk direct to San Francisco residents with 2-minute ads talking about how screwed up the city is. Same for Portland and Seattle.

Tons of lost opportunities for the Democrats. Achievements would have helped their message more.

Me, too.

But don't get your hopes up about the House. Trump is not President BECAUSE he ran as a Republican, he's President IN SPITE OF THE FACT that he ran as a Republican.

If there's one thing people hate more than Democrats, it's Republicans.

I’ve thought for awhile the only way to drain the swamp is with a third party.

I can attest to your words being factual. My vote for Trump was as much a vote against Hillary as it was for Trump, now I am a firm ‘Forever Trumper’. I have yet to see, or hear, of people who have gone the other way (voted for Trump and now are opposed). The people against him now were against him then.

Just wait. Once the Donkeys have an actual candidate, it will be breadline Bernie or a Democrat Party Establishment pick they put forward after screwing Bernie over again. Then Trump will get to pummel them with all the insane positions they took together the nomination - open borders, free chit for any foreigner who wanders in, economy destroying Gaia Worship, bathroom confusion and biological males ruining women’s sports and lots more lunacy.

Be safe. I live about 100 miles north of Milwaukee, hope it’s far enough. I have a feeling the democrats are going to be real ugly.

The faces of Nasty Pelosi, Adam bug eyes Schitt and Jerry fat Nadler is not a winning formula for the democrat party. Ad corrupt Hillary to the mix and you got a loser for sure. Obama didn't win by flooding the TV with four corrupt idiots for months at a time.

Wisconsin is ruled by two voting blocks Milwaukee and Madison both of which voted Democrat in the last Governor’s election. Cheating? Got nothing on Chicago. Expect more of same in November.

I had written off the idea of winning Wisconsin again because of how exorcised the loonies seem to be up there.

I lived and worked in Wisconsin during the Scott Walker Recall election. The effort to remove was tremendous, and they easily met Wisconsin's very high recall petitions signature threshold legitimately. The quiet Wisconsinites responded by affirming Walker by a larger margin, and with more votes then he received when originally elected.

Walker's voter ID reform (though partially undone by courts) should make the elections less vulnerable to Chicago cheats.

my vote was also somewhat a vote against Hillary, but.. I HOPED Trump would do what he was saying he would do... but... I was leary.. since I have a long history of not trusting the words of politicians from the North.

But Trump has been everything I could of hoped for and more!

He has been greater than Reagan honestly.
