Everyone of us who EDC need to decide what we'll do if we're confronted with a life and death situation.
What would you do?
I know I've heard stories here from FReepers who have had to pull their firearms.
As concealed carriers, pulling our firearm is the last thing we want to do but we have that option.

Tuco’s Rule
Harry Truman didn’t give Japan a warning shot, even though some of his advisors wanted him to.
Warning shots, unicorns, Santa, the Easter Bunny, the good fairy, are bullshit. Shoot till the threat is gone. The best gunfight is the one youre never in, but you have to be the winner if thats the last resort. IMHO
This is very good advice for the situations described and for the literal acting of aiming directly at and firing shots directly at a threatening/advancing bad guy.
But it’s also good advice for Republican Attorneys General.
If you’re going to arrest criminal conspirators, arrest them. Don’t talk about it, especially endless talking, with all kinds of pre-talking through surrogates predicting bombshells and booms.
Just do your darn job and arrest the SOBs.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but when I read the title and saw the line from Good/Bad/Ugly it’s what I thought the article was actually about.
Now back to the actual ontopic discussion. Sorry again for the digression.
It kills me when people say to rack a pump shotgun to scare the bad guys.
The chamber should already be loaded and you click off the safety and shoot the perp!
As concealed carriers, pulling our firearm is the last thing we want to do but we have that option.

Two things that one must keep close at hand.
A firearm and a parachute.
If you ever REALLY need either and don’t have, chances are pretty good you will never need anything again.
ALL THE REASONS TO OWN FIREARMS

One of my shooting coaches recommends that you always fire three warning shots: two in the chest, and one in the head.
That first pic shows a problem. The apparent home owner is well lit and the perp is in the dark. I keep the hall to our bedrooms dark and a small light in the living room so any intruder will be in the light and I will be in the dark. Helps with sight picture and lessens their night vision.
“The man began to comply, but suddenly fired, hitting Cain in the abdomen. Cain was taken to the hospital but died of his wounds.”
Getting to the point of dropping someone when other options might be available is difficult, but it is sometimes needed. If a guy who’s a threat is holding a gun...we all must learn to quickly take him out. There’s no reason to put yourself or your family at risk trying to talk him down, and even if you did, think about, he’d simply hit another family...and they probably won’t be so lucky.
Agreed. Shoot the bastard first. Then if he is still a threat, shoot him again.
Retired cop buddy send me a vid, dude walks up to a pack and ship place, wearing hoodie on hot day and no boxes. Pulled a gun on the clerk, customer next to him pulled his ccw out of his shorts, extended his arm, and shot the guy three times, twice in the head. Hoodie kept things nice and clean.
Point is the shooter saw the threat and neturalized it in a span of 6 seconds. That’s how it is done.
I still find this partly nonsense, and partly catering to thug-loving liberalism.
So, liberals are saying we must be quick-draw McGraw and think fast on whether we want to shoot someone. And hope we are quick enough to beat the thug to the punch. Because if we brandish it first, or shoot into the ground, or talk to them, it means the thug wasnt an IMMEDIATE threat, and of course he should never be shot unless he really truly had a gun and was pulling his trigger right then.
Geesh.
No thanks. Sounds total BS. And caving to liberal think.
I thought we love posting stories about people who took out their guns and scared the bum just that way.
Dead People Tell No Lies... and they have no lawyer or a case.
It changes everything about your life. Its an event you revisit in your head, rolling over it like a bad dream. But its a burden Ill bear if it means Ill continue to draw breath.
Ive had to pull my pistol in the USA three times in my life which was enough to stop the threat
In Sierra Leone late 80s it was a different scenario
I dont believe the adage dont pull it until you are for sure going to shoot them
That is simply wrong in most civilian applications
It causes cops to shoot too damn fast and to kill always
But Im sure recon rangers life of dangers here will scold me
