“He’s in a “medically good state” according to the authorities. Most likely they will keep him because they aren’t sure about virus shedding after recovery.”

Thanks, but still nothing to take lightly!

BERLIN (Reuters) - A new coronavirus that is spreading around the world has been confirmed in a child in Germany, the southern state of Bavaria said on Friday, bringing the total number of known cases in Germany to six.

The new case is a child of an employee at the same firm where four more individuals in the Munich area were infected, the state health ministry said in a statement.

All affected persons are in stable condition, the ministry said

You are absolutely right, nothing to take lightly! Seems to spread readily. But we don't know the actual mortality. Could be 2-3% Could be higher. Could be lower using the best case CDC ranges, which result in 1% (10 times higher than the flu).

If it spreads like the flu with 10x worse mortality that's very bad. Not 1919 bad but bad.
