Texas is not going democrat any time soon.
Bobo raised over $70 million (most from out of state liberals), more than two times the total amount raised Cruz. Cruz was unpopular even among conservatives after his failed presidential run, particularly after his performance at the Republican convention. Many losing candidates in presidential primaries go on to lose re-election for their existing seats.
Governor Greg Abbott's 2018 re-election is more representative of the state. Abbott (a white guy running against an hispanic) defeated democrat candidate Lupe Valdez with about 56% of the vote, including 42% of the Hispanic vote and 16% of African Americans.

Wow! This guy was able to attract 20,000 volunteers that were excited about watching him get a hair cut and a trip to the dentist for a teeth-cleaning. I thought he would probably thrill them with a colonopsy next, but fortunately that never happened. Amazing, it’s absolutely amazing how many parasites get elected to serve as Democrats in our congress.
