The House democrats have to wait until the Supreme Court rules on Trump’s use of executive privilege to block John Bolton from testifying. I believe the courts will take their time on this issue before it reaches the Supreme Court.
You are absolutely right.
To be honest, this is the most sane I’ve heard Rubio sound.
Don’t worry, I know he’ll be back his old self before the applause fades.
Trump should give the SOTU Address from the Oval Office - after he’s acquitted. Not before.
“Bottom line is despite not initially wanting to do it they were bullied into impeachment by radical far left voices they are afraid of.”
That’s as sound an assessment as i’ve heard.
The poll tested “stealing the election” line was also a joke. Was Trump trying to tamper with voting equipment or something?

Go, Little Micro, Go.
Only winner in this travesty is the President. The House beclowned themselves passing Articles of Impeachment without due process then the Senate legitimized it by taking it up thereby setting a precedent that will plague them in the future.

I tend to agree with this. To display more of the division that currently infests DC just continues the charade... I think people will be more taken by " reactions" to his speech rather than what he is saying if in the Senate Chamber. He can be Calm, collected and positive from the Oval office. Democrats don't deserve grandstanding any more in front of the cameras!!
Mr Trump exposed this guy to as a phoney for those who care to be honest with the unfolding of history.
What I'm supposed be greatful this backstabbing asshole votes to do the right thing?
Oh thats right he's a senator - a whore, be surprised he's doing the right thing and pretend there isn't a price attached.
Hey Marco - you suck
Just one more reasons I say Trump is The Last President.
I have a different take.
I think that the president’s lawyers and the president did not want a motion to dismiss because they knew the case was BS and wanted to get his defense out to the public.
A motion to dismiss would not have allowed his side of the case to be placed into the public discourse. Six days of the prosecution making innuendos, false statements etc., vs. the defense’s tearing the house Dems and Senate Dems apart was great optics and a chance to educate the public on law and fairness.
The public understands basic fairness and saw none of that on the Dems side.
True, and there will be Bombshell after Bombshell revelations of anonymous leaks and passionate cries for re-opening the vote for MORE witnesses.
The GOP is the useless party...most need to be primaried...but it never happens....they have all the money,,,
So after four more years...it is back to the way it was...they resist just like the democrats,,,
But behind closed doors
The timing of MTD can be after each side presents its case. Trump’s team argued that the articles were invalid, infirm, whatever. This is parallel to a prosecutor failing to allege a crime. We don;t conduct a trial in that case, it is piling on.
Congress blew an opportunity to educate the public on law and fairness.
Now we get to hear “no fair trial” until the Trump era fades from social memory. Maybe the correct legal argument makes a dent in spite of the fact that it hasn’t (yet) been given much time.
No, I want to see AOC and Sanders’ faces again when Trump speaks. :D
Little Marco writes like a sixth-grader.
Waited too long to speak out, he should have been attacking Schiff from “having secret evidence” in the last 3 years. If all the Republicans called this bullshit out hard and early there wouldn’t be so much of it.
Murkowski?
She crapped all over Republicans in her statement with her remarks about how theres not gonna be a fair trial in the Senate regardless what she does so she’s ending it now.
Yes she blamed both houses. Through egg on Senate Republicans.
She’s despicable.
Perhaps if enough Dem senators vote not guilty it eould give Schiff & Nadler plause in trying to do this impeachment scheme again.
After all, if the Dems really needed more evidence to make their decision, that means not evidence to convict.
Time is short to pull another one before the election, I think that is the most signoificant hurdle.
I agree with you that if enough DEMs voted to acquit, it would signal the political appetite of the DEMs to abuse Congress' formal mechanisms as a means to punish Trump by process, give him another pointless distraction to occupy his lawyers workday.
They know none of these will result in removal, so wahtver objective they are aiming is comes just from using the process.
If a cop wants to hassle you, off to the station you go. You can beat the rap but you can't beat the ride. Nifong put a few innocent accused through the wringer, all for his own benefit. Getting Congress to do the same is accomplished by voting DEMs into office. They don't follow rules and norms. They've been abusing law for a long time, all the way up to hallucinating right to abortion and right to homo marriage in the constitution.
