I did updates on the 2914 ebola outbreak on the thread linked below. Reality turned out to be way different than projections. Interesting to review and think about in respect to the current coronavirus outbreak.

This is the analysis performed on one of the samples sent from La Gomera (Canary Islands). The patient is admitted and isolated in a hospital of the island.

The missing piece of information here: How many of those who have caught the disease have recovered?
The last numbers I saw was 171. So is the fatality rate 2.2%, or is it 60.1%? I very much doubt it is anywhere near 60.1% (2.2% is bad enough), but the unknown is so large that it is a theoretically possible number.
Just to be clear, I am not intending to freak people out, just to point out the uncertainty suggested by the numbers presented.
