Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski came out Friday against calling witnesses in President Trumps impeachment trial, all but assuring the Senate will move to wrap up proceedings with a likely acquittal in a matter of days, if not hours.
Given the partisan nature of this impeachment from the very beginning and throughout, I have come to the conclusion that there will be no fair trial in the Senate. I dont believe the continuation of this process will change anything. It is sad for me to admit that, as an institution, the Congress has failed, said Murkowski, R-Alaska, a key moderate senator who has been closely watched on the witness question.

Ah, bipartisanship at last!
Smells good
Hey gator, yeah but maybe only pork byproducts.
That’s a great statement, actually. I’m surprized.
She’s correct. Congress is a failed institution.
He isn’t up for years. Recall the bastard.
If Jones votes yea he is all but conceding that he knows he is going to lose to the Keebler Elf.
Fantastic!
She took a shot at Willard in her statement which I fully agreed with. She did our nation right today.
All this, by the Dems, is an attempt to have the TRIAL be ongoing during the State of the Union for the talking points and the optics, (maybe even having the Dems walk out during the SOTU).
I cannot believe that she actually did the correct and sane thing. I was fully prepared to be completely disgusted in her again.
I hate to say it but after listening to our Senators for the past week, I am surprised that anything gets done for the people of this country. I cannot imagine a group of “leaders” who are as ignorant and contemptable as this bunch. To think that this country and it’s future rest in the hands of these idiots is frightening.
But it does give Mitch a very firm grasp of her shorthairs.

HOW DARE YOU!!!
Forcing that image to conjure in my mind.
Don’t think there is enough eye candy to erase it BUT - you are willing to try..... <: <: <:
The Mormons will not allow that to happen.
To think ‘they’ have wasted 3 years and spent OUR money on this farce.
On the PLUS side, they have virtually done NOTHING ELSE and probably would have spent twice the money as long as they weren’t under our scrutiny.
Like it has been observed....What exactly is wrong with a Govt shutdown....The POLs would only be attacking us under the guise of work...
Maybe PDJT can somehow get it entrenched into law that if the Government shuts down (under the usual circumstances) that they ALL will forfeit their pay and bennies - including travel - for the period they are shut down, including staffers etc
I like to point out that to ‘prove a point that PDJT was an SOB, restaurants were giving ‘free meals’ etc to the laid off Govt workers(??)
Conspicuosly absent was the Senate & Congressional dining rooms and commissaries were NOT available to the public.
HMMMM
And PDJT can also have HIS pay suspended but he will personally see to it that wherever his check is being donated, he will cover it.
Witholding monies from these ‘Greedy Bustards’ will probably work.
Actually Article 1, Section 3, Clause 4 of the US Constitution would rule out Roberts as being the tiebreaker - it clearly states that the tiebreaking vote goes to the US Vice President:
“The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.”
They better take the vote tonight because this lady is slippery then a fish floundering on the beach! I don’t trust her to keep her word! Action speaks louder than words!
It isnt going to help with the Monday votes in Iowa.
Hannity delivered a heart-felt appeal directly to Romney last night.
Very well spoken. Totally ignored, of course.
Romney drips with treason, like a barnyard pig drips with mud.
