The impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump is coming down to one big question: Will Democrats, by crying wolf, drown out the more legitimate Republican cry of foul?
“Foul” has served as the GOP’s most powerful and honest argument from the first days of these impeachment maneuverings. Democrats broke every standard of due process, transparency and fairness in their House investigation, making a mockery of their constitutional duty.
They hid the identity of the original accuser, denying Republicans and the country the ability to judge his motives. They held secret depositions, barring more than three-quarters of House members, as well as the press and the American public. They called 18 witnesses, but blocked the president from calling any in his defense. The White House legal team was excluded from the proceedings—prohibited from cross-examining witnesses, denied the ability to introduce any evidence that spoke to the central question of the president’s focus on Ukrainian corruption.
House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff secretly obtained and published the communications records of the president’s private attorney, a member of Congress and a reporter. Democrats withdrew their court challenge to compel a key witness, depriving the White House of the ability to defend its executive-privilege claim in court. And the legitimacy of the first portion of the House inquiry—including numerous subpoenas—is in doubt, since it was conducted before the House voted to open it.
Democrats approved two articles of impeachment that failed to identify a crime. Senators are instead asked to render verdicts on a vague “abuse of power” claim and on a “obstruction of Congress” charge that is the result of the House’s own decision not to litigate its demand for testimony. Those articles were passed by a partisan vote with no serious expectation of conviction, simply to make a statement

Don’t worry. The next sham is being formulated as we speak.
That means they fall easy prey to the Democrats emotional appeals of "fairness" (when they themselves have exhibited none) and the constant anti-Trump propaganda barrage by the lying liberal lamestream media.
We see that in the rigged polls showing 50% of Americans in favor of impeachment with the remainder against.
The Democrats know that the overwhelming majority of Americans don't understand the three legged stool that is our form of government and the role of each leg on that stool. They not only know it, they prey on it.
It's when older geezers such as myself die off and are no longer here to defend our Constitutional Republic (we are NOT a "democracy") that the country will finally be lost to these socialist a**holes and the last, best hope for freedom on the planet fades into the dustbin of history.
20 years, tops. That's all that's left.
Acquittal today; reaction over the weekend; no impeachment inquiries on Monday; and new articles of impeachment by next Friday.
Rinse and repeat until November.
Sorry but the whole fiasco would have been worthwhile if Trump’s lawyers could have called Paul Pelosi to testify. Nancy’s son did exactly the same thing in the Ukraine as Hunter Biden. Trump’s lawyers could have demonstrated the corruption and the way money was funneled to Biden, Pelosi, Schiff, Kerry, Romney and other Democrats. Trump would have been vindicated in his desire to investigate the corruption and acquitted. Also Nancy could have used her shiny new pen to sign her resignation letter and Paul’s bail bond. It would have been great to destroy the vile Democratic Party.

Newt and Victor Davis Hanson were on Laura Ingraham’s show last night. Hanson called shifty “disreputable and unstable” and Newt called him a “deranged individual.”
Someone was talking about him and that NY Jeffries looking to the Senate or even the WH in future campaigns.. HA! Gee why not? shifty has the crazy thing going and Jeffries has the black thing going.

I thought it was comical that all the House Managers had to carry a binder to the podium with them. Not only that but how did they know what questions were going to be asked that they could find a page with that topic in order to answer or was that all for show?
I must say it was most impressive that they had those binders. Looked like they really knew what they were doing and so important. Sometime yesterday, they started carrying slips of paper up - must have gotten to be too much work to tote the binder back and forth.

I can’t speak to Jeffries’ prospects, but I assure you we have plenty of other lunatics here in California to run for the Senate. Ones that aren’t white and male. Schiff will never be elected to the Senate from here. Bank on it
