There is no need for more evidence to prove that the president asked Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter; he said this on television on October 3, 2019, and during his July 25, 2019, telephone call with the president of Ukraine. There is no need for more evidence to conclude that the president withheld United States aid, at least in part, to pressure Ukraine to investigate the Bidens; the House managers have proved this with what they call a mountain of overwhelming evidence. There is no need to consider further the frivolous second article of impeachment that would remove the president for asserting his constitutional prerogative to protect confidential conversations with his close advisers.

I believe the President when he says he did nothing wrong - but the term quid pro quo is too ambiguous to mean anything, legally.
It just means this for that, and as Dershowitz said, it is impossible to imagine a negotiation that had no quid pro quo. In fact, a President has every reason to expect something in return for financial aid, and is even obligated to negotiate for it.
There are good quid pro quos and bad ones, like the one Biden did to get the investigator fired.
When Trump said no quid pro quo, obviously he was saying there was none of the bad kind - and I believe him.
Romney can use Bolton’s book for an enema, it will fit once Romney removes his head from his rear end.
Write letters to the editor of every Utah paper and a note to Utah tourist organizations that you may have voted for Romney in 2012, but he has turned into a quisling and a moron, and you will never visit Utah again until he resigns or is recalled, and you are CCIng/ suggesting to the thousands on your email address book they do the same.
(I even wrote to the elders of LDS and told them he was an embarrassment to Mormons. that If he is who they voted for, maybe they are batsh*t crazy).
re that CNN “explanation” of the possible tie vote on witnesses.
Bolton is mentioned 3 times. Biden NOT ONCE. Dems are delusional if they think only Bolton would be testifying. (And Trump will block him with Executive Privilege and for that into court).
What would be Biden’s play? “I can’t testify because my son OD’d on crack!”
I think it is ANY tie vote.
But this is all so new and unusual, they may come up with some solid solutions.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats appeared to have fallen short on Thursday in their bid to garner the votes needed to call witnesses in President Donald Trumps impeachment trial, clearing the way for his likely acquittal as early as this weekend.
Even if I don’t always agree with him, Dershowitz is a genius, and the mental midgets at the Compost believe they know constitutional history better than he does? No wonder no one buys their fish wrap anymore.
Bolton would just lie.
Almost over!
Durham’s report is meaningless. We need to see indictments role out well before the report just like the Mueller mess. Tdd
Yes, that's exactly right.
SENATORS: If the Impeachment doesn’t fit....you must ACQUIT!
Romney and McCain hated President Trump for winning the presidency. They felt like it was their turn, and it hurt their pride that an outsider could win. Someone who doesn’t play by the team rules.
Amazing! Lamont Alexander will do the right thing, plus Lamont coming out will persuade nitwits Collins and Murkowski to copy him.
And Collins and Murk are usually as useless as it gets.
Or is Mittzy Romney worse? Romney is the biggest show boater among them. What a dud!
:)
If Republican, Susan Collins casts a yes vote for more witnesses in the Trump Impeachment farce...she will lose her senate seat in November or, she will be challenged in the Maine primary election.
Ms.Collins...read my lips...POTUS, TRump will campaign personally in Maine and he will easily carry the state of Maine come this November. Collins will get no help whatsoever from DJT or the Republican Party proper. Her political career will end quickly...period!!! Foolish, person!!!
As for Mitt Romney, he is hated in Utah now and across the entire country. Romney’s political career is finished!!! There is nothing more to say.
And...if I were Senator, Murkowski from Alaska...I woild announce right now that I will be casting vote as a “No” to more witnesses in the Trump impeachment farce. If she choses to vote yes...her political career ends that very moment!!!
AS for the Three Democrats a yes vote from them on more witnesses for the Trump impeachment farce...means political death fro all three of them.
As a matter of face any Democrat that votes yes on this issue is politically cutting their own political throats. End of story!!!
Romney should buy him lunch then.
“...Dems...milking every drop...”
You are right - however it won’t work for them.
They need to be publicly told that they support unconstitutional articles of impeachment. But, we don’t know the behind the scenes stuff. As long as it’s over.
