Alexander Statement on Impeachment Witness Vote (he's a no)
www.alexander.senate.gov ^ | 1/30/2020 | Senator Lamar Alexander

Posted on 01/30/2020 8:07:35 PM PST by CaptainK

“There is no need for more evidence to prove that the president asked Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter; he said this on television on October 3, 2019, and during his July 25, 2019, telephone call with the president of Ukraine. There is no need for more evidence to conclude that the president withheld United States aid, at least in part, to pressure Ukraine to investigate the Bidens; the House managers have proved this with what they call a ‘mountain of overwhelming evidence.’ There is no need to consider further the frivolous second article of impeachment that would remove the president for asserting his constitutional prerogative to protect confidential conversations with his close advisers.

This is why we need 10 more Trump Senators!

YES! 15 would be even better...

All of New England *sucks*, politically speaking. I live in Connecticut. In each New England state, there ARE pockets of conservatism. There just aren't enough of us! 😒

It’s too bad we didn’t get rid of him last time. It was close but too many others ran against him in the primary and diluted the votes. One guy was just a couple of points of beating him.

It takes only one to remove the President from office IF two thirds of the Senate vote to convict...

If you are from Utah..your duty is to confront him.

I called Sinema’s office and read them the riot act. Told them that in blunt terms is she is not qualified to be senator if she votes for this scam.

Matter of fact I told them that if she wanted to be some kind of hero, she should at least put forth a motion to dismiss even if it gets voted down-that was before this shit show started.

"The US Senate rule for Impeachment is a 50/50 tie is a fail."

Show us the rule.

You must not watch Fox News much. As of midnight, they have been on for two hours saying “In a 50-50 tie, the vote goes down.”

Along with lines about no vote by Chief Justice. And “50 votes is all the Republicans need.”

Unless no one on Fox knows what to hey are talking about, you will find out Friday that you were mistaken.

Not only were they hearsay witnesses, but cross-examination by the President’s counsel was not even allowed.

To think we spent two weeks arguing whether the President behaved like a politician. Being one isn’t a crime and doesn’t rise to the level of an impeachable offense.

I hope there is not another Jeff Flake out there. That jerk nearly cost us a supreme court justice. Please no John McCain with the thumbs down stuff. Let’s just get this over with.

No. The Chief Justice is just the presiding officer and can not call any witnesses without the approval of the senate, nor can he vote. He is not the jury.

Schiff for brains thinks he (Roberts) can call witnesses. That is how GD dumb that asshole is.

House impeachment was the fruit of the poisoned tree. Because the House didn’t follow its own rules...
