WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic prosecutors and Republican defenders at President Donald Trumps impeachment trial on Thursday barreled toward a confrontation over new witnesses, something that would deny Trump the swift conclusion of the matter that he seeks.
As U.S. senators spent a second day firing questions at both legal teams, Republicans, who control the chamber, said they were confident they could hold a final vote and acquit Trump as early as the weekend.

Gene Autry - Back in the Saddle Again (from Back in the Saddle 1941)
This is Roto-Reuters so take the Uncertainty Remains part and ignore it.
Do we have to listen to 2 hours of Schiff tomorrow reiterating all his nonsense.
You listen, then tell us what part of what he says isn’t retarded.
Gene Autry - Back in the Saddle Again (from Back in the Saddle 1941)
For a while Rush had this song for his Gay Community AIDS Update Theme. He actually had a vote between that and “I Know I’ll Never Love This Way Again”. “Back in the Saddle Again” was the overwhelming favorite.
Lamar is supposed to announce which way he’s going tonight.
getting a little late
Hes from Tennessee he cant be that much of a fool. I expect him to vote with the republicans .
At least with DVD of Advise and Consent (1962, Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton,Walter Pidgeon) you can skip ahead when the movie is boring and get to the last minute suspenseful vote and so on. The gay angle was sort of up to today. The liberal virtue signaling on peace is barf material.
Schiff and Nadler would be unbelievable in a future movie as themselves today. People would say “C’mon, the people then were that abominably stupid as to vote Schiff and Nadler into office and then listen to them blab for hour after hour?
When I see bugeyes my blood pressure goes through the roof. I refuse to watch a second of this charade.
I just saw that. Honest I didn’t know which state he represented.
I figured Tennessee would be a slam dunk
In the movie SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, the background music was Autry singing BACK IN THE SADDLE while Tom Hanks (widower) decides to enter the dating world again, and phones an acquaintance to ask for a date. Hanks did a great job with the ashen face, sweaty palms and shaky voice portrayal.
This farce should end tomorrow. If it doesn’t, President Trump’s lawyers should get to call Hunter Biden. I think the Democrats privately want this to end, because having Hunter Biden testify would be disastrous for them.
This probably isn’t the right place for this comment BUT I think the Presidents team has very poorly communicated that House Managers are asking for TWO outcomes: (1) President Trump should be removed from office; AND (2) President Trump should never be allowed to hold public office again, meaning that he would NOT be eligible to run for President this year.
The Presidents team hints at this when they talk about removal from the ballot and interfering with the 2020 election. But I have not yet heard them say, They dont just want to remove him from office; they want to prevent you from every being able to vote for him again.
I think if #1 makes people angry, #2 should enrage them, but most people just dont know.
The Presidents legal team have stated on several occasions that the House Dems want to remove the President from this years ballot.
If the President is removed, by law he cannot ever hold public office again, ever.
Susan Collins says she will vote to allow hearing from witnesses. What a traitor.
Collins listens to this for 9 days and comes away saying she will vote for witnesses. Is it time to really primary this traitor or, should we just concede that seat and not spend money to save it? How many years are we going to let her do this to us?
Where did you see that?
Hes from Tennessee he cant be that much of a fool. I expect him to vote with the republicans .
Which ones? Mittens and Collins?
