I had to take a little break after reading your message. “I’m Proud to be an American” always gets a tear in or more in my eyes.
And, I love the song”Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.
I’ve had family members serving from WW I on and maybe prior to that. My dad was a lifer in the Air Force during three wars and was deployed un Vietnam. So my sister and I are very patriotic and totally support our military as well as the first responders (1 of my cousins was in the Marines then retired from the Seattle PD and another was shot and wounded while serving on a PD in Oregon. Even if I didn’t have any family members in the military or as a first responder I would still support all of these heroic people.
Not sure why I am sharing all of this with you but your post really touched me. From your post I take it that you were at Walter Reed. I am sorry for any injuries, pain and/or difficulties you had. Given you’re on FR now, you are in a good place :-) I thank you for your service. You are another reason for us to be proud and grateful Americans. God bless.

“INTERESTING” has many different meanings...both good and bad.
And I’m a bit leery, re your prognostication of an upswing. Just when I think that things can’t get any worse, they usually do. But IF, come November, we get the House, keep ( get a larger majority in it ), and the White House, things might begin to get much better.
The families of our warriors serve too.

My personal thought.
After seeing another Amazing Crowd of President Supporters in another Rally within one week...how does this President manage his drive for betterment for US, with so much focus is on negative and sorry fake news. I call it Amazing.
I will only focus on the Good of this Country from this President.
My city has a minor league ballpark that the city has a stake in. I told our mayor that I had the feeling Trump was going to do a rally in every state and it should be in our stadium.
He liked the idea.
The entire state of N.Y. had the same syllabus, FOR ALL SCHOOLS ( private, parochial, and public ) so I know exactly what he had in school.
Also, ALL of the early T.V. shows, that he might have seen, were anti-Commie/pro-America. The shows for children, back then, were REALLY for children and many were just the traditional fairy tales, children's adventure stories.
And he has been saying the same things for many decades;so I knew, from the start, that he was the "REAL DEAL".

He really likes being with the people - hopefully he draws energy to deal with The Swamp.
The people who are in the arena for a Trump rally have waited a long time to get in. I think that they would be disappointed if the “traditional” chants and ending of the rally were omitted.
Good to here. Loved that ending when I first heard it.
Great that Trump gets feedback from the people- instead of the media’s BS.
