There are currently 9,171 confirmed cases worldwide, including 213 fatalities.
Best to get in early.
“11,090 229 deaths”
No, it did not say that.
The chart, which Ive found Interesting:

IMHO the cases outside Hubei haven’t been sick long enough to die yet.
We’ll see in another week.
Maybe the healthcare is better there because, knowing what’s going on, their healthcare hasn’t totally collapsed like it did in Hubei.
It may very likely because of the level of care is higher and more successful with fewer patients to treat.
Yes only .3% death rate.. we need to see if that rises because
as i mentioned this in the other thread they are either more mild cases outside the area or to new to progress to death stage..since the Lancelot study average time to ICU was 14 days from when they arrived at hospital
Looks like 2 recovered in NSW Aus.
Happy happy!
35 million infected. I am sure the CDC estimated that.
490,000 hospitalized.
32,200 deaths.
Those are the CDC numbers from LAST year. 2018-2019
That a death rate of .092% of infected.
6.5% for hospitalized. And in the US, home care with drugs is probably as good as most second world healthcare.
I am not suggesting anything other than only the worst cases in the US are hospitalized.
Millions of #locusts 🦗 have been invading eastern Africa for several days.
They devour crops & threaten food security.

A host of earthquakes, a virus outbreak, forest fires, and now locusts. Probably not time to queue up REM's It's the End of the World"
I was using the flu as a comparison for the ratios only. I agree that this is far worse than the normal flu. Up there with SARs in many ways.
We need a library of wide spectrum small molecule antivirals for this particular class of viruses. The next one may be ‘the one’. The class has that potential. Even w/o ‘professional alterations’ being considered. If it takes 6m to spool up a vaccine, and the virus changes in that time...then what.
And with lots of our med supplies and chemicals made in China, that seems to be the source of this family of bugs, that’s baaaaad. It’s like the virus begins the war by shooting the flag officers.
Just got wait until feb 3.
Thanks for the thread.
Thanks again.
Not sure the flu comparison is all that helpful.
Although I expect the virus to mutate to a more infectious, less deadly form like the flu.
Just what we need- a new fiu...
Just got wait until feb 3.
????
9821 total cases
Where is our leadership as the Chinese fly in here .
Suckers of the world and Chinas leadership knows it .
A tan increase of one a day in cases...
It’s hard to claim a need for more action.
Of course if that ticks up- different story.
I'm reading that as more people die of it than recover from it.
Data is probably a little skewed, as hospital admissions are probably limited to the most desperately ill.
Trump would be called an alarmist and racist. Again, at least on the racist side.
I cannot think of another reason why we wouldnt have everyone screened before they got ON the plane.
