There are currently 9,171 confirmed cases worldwide, including 213 fatalities.
“What if these werent plague deaths.
What if this was an incident that had an unintended outcome. Some loose ends werent properly tied. This thing rattled around China until it ended up in Wuhan, a big transportation hub.”
Facebook....China....
Definite similarities, there.
China has LOTS of Uyghurs to test vaccines on !!!
Incredible what these folks are having to deal with...and, how they’re having to deal with all of this. Not surprising, though.

Wow. Right now real time numbers.
9,822 confirmed
15,000 being tested currently. Apparently the infectious rate is greater than the testing rate. In other words, they cannot keep up with testing. That cannot be good.
That is a must watch. Specifically the issue of negative air pressure and not using hotels for triage and infection.
We won’t really know that until it gets into the west.
Unfortunately, that means it needs to get into the west :/
Interesting video supposedly from Jan 1 of this year:

That’s approx the date the Chinese brought in the SARS experts to figure out what was going on.
Looks like they figured it out...
“...Looks like they figured it out...”
And the quarantines began.
Not on jan 1.
Looks like they knew they had ‘loose ends’ and were trying to tie those up.
Still no quarantines for several weeks.
Jan 1 is when the wet market was closed though. As they knew from contact tracing WHAT they likely had (it was SARSlike) and most (but not all) of the victims that had contracted it by then had been through that market.
I had the Hong Kong flu in 1968 when I was 19 (I didn’t know the name then, I didn’t know the flu had names!) and I’ve had a dynamite immune system since then. No more flu. Few, mild colds. One bout of bronchitis 15 years ago that required doctor’s treatment and missed work, and occasional gastroenteritis, but that’s all.
Before I had the flu, I thought it was just a real, real bad cold, and people who had the flu were malingering because they weren’t coughing and hacking... Boy was I wrong.
I wonder if the flu is one of those things that will make you strong if it doesn’t kill you.
lack of oxygen to organs = failure
I think it is probably more like Recession vs. bad sick, possible death and then a recession.
All the people staying home from work will do a number on the economy. A bunch of sick people. A bunch of people taking care of their family. A bunch of people staying home so they don’t get it.
In a worst case situation that might mean no food, water, electricity, etc.
However - the 1918 Pandemic was very bad, but shortly thereafter it was the “Roaring 20’s”, so who knows?
One can certainly hope.
I just hope it skips the rest of the world altogether.
I don’t want this thing and I’m sure nobody else does either.
And it can leave China alone too.
It needs to just go away.
powerful. I want to reach thru my computer screen and drag him to safety. Wow.
Virgin Atlantic released a statement late on Thursday night saying its China services would cease for a fortnight after the arrival of its flight from Shanghai on Saturday.

“If your dogs run around outside and come to contact with the outbreak or people infected with the virus, then your pets should also be put in quarantine.
