Anybody who hasn’t read his autobiography, My Grandfather’s Son, should do so. It’s very honest and really very inspiring to see what he went through, growing up poor in the segregated South, being encouraged a little harshly by his grandfather and a little less harshly but firmly by the nuns that taught him in Catholic school, and then simply moving ahead. A brave man and a model for us all, especially young black men; but of course, the Dems and Dem-controlled organizations wouldn’t even let him be a commencement speaker at schools around DC. Disgusting.
