These stories always come down to a discussion about the “conservative credentials” of two different candidates for a Senate seat.

If Collins and Loeffler faced off in a primary for an open seat, I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. But since she’s running as an appointed incumbent, the REAL question should be: What does the U.S. Senate accomplish via legislation or Senate confirmation process with Doug Collins in that seat instead of Kelly Loeffler?

The answer, I suspect, is NOTHING ... which is what makes this something of a curious decision by Collins.

Are you kidding me. Collins has been a solid supporter of Trump. We don’t just need an affirmation vote. You need people who will stand up for Trump when things get sticky and they will. I don’t see her go to the mic or in CNN defending the President during impeachment. Contrast that with Brain from Indiana and Scott of Florida. How good does it feel to have them calling out the coup at every turn. Trump needs legitimate allies not just affirmative votes.
