Schiff really got a little in a bunch over possibly being called as a witness. He also pretty much made the Repubs’ point: if you call new witnesses, you open the door wide open for never-ending witnesses.
Could be the Rats are really off balance now. Trying for a Roberts role and shifting their arguments in the heat of the debate.

So Schiff wants the Senate “trial” to be one-sided, just like the House. He gets his witness, but the President doesn’t get any.
The Pres. counsel should say, “we allow equal representation in the Senate, unlike the house, which locked out any of our witnesses”.
