Trump, at packed New Jersey rally, hits congressional Dems amid impeachment fight

President Trump headlined a jam-packed rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Tuesday night, hours after his attorneys wrapped up their opening arguments in his Senate impeachment trial -- and minutes after sources told Fox News that Republicans don't have the votes yet to block additional witnesses who could extend the proceedings.

An elevated level of enthusiasm was evident in the larger-than-normal crowd sizes inside and outside the Wildwoods Convention Center, and Fox News spoke to several attendees who had been waiting more than 24 hours to ensure they would be seated.

"Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said that the campaign had received 158,632 requests for tickets at the event, including 92,841 distinct signups, and had identified a total of 73,482 voters --10.4 percent of whom didn't vote in 2016, and 26.3 percent of whom were self-described Democrats."

They had a large screen (not that large really) for the overflow crowd. We waited over 12 hours in line, but were turned away.

The crowd, however, was wonderful. Despite the cold and the wind, everyone was supportive and cheerful. There were even little kids, wearing Trump gear, who were all smiles despite standing in line for hours in the cold.

There are some Freepers on the board to who are quick to paint with a broad brush.

"All of Massachusetts is $$%^&!"

We really need to stop bashing each other and other states. Look at Virginia. It is under assault. None of us are immune from the ravages of tyranny, Democrat-Marxism, and Globalism.

Your "safe state" foundation that you rely on can turn to jelly very quickly. We are all in this together.

There are patriots in every corner of the great nation.

This was evident during the last 3 days.

This being blue New Jersey and early in the race, maybe they weren't expecting much -- and whoa! They got unexpectedly great response! If New Jersey looks like it's in play, he will come back and go bigger.

I’d love to see President Donald J. Trump do a rally in Connecticut, either at Rentschler Field or the XL Center in the Hartford area, so it can get people from Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York and Maine (3 to 4 hours from Maine (Southwest) to Hartford.). Maybe Pennsylvania and New Jersey, too...
