President Trump says Mike Pompeo 'did a good job' berating NPR reporter

President Donald Trump on Tuesday commended Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who was accused by an NPR reporter last week of shouting expletives at her following an interview, saying he "did a good job on her."

Trump made the comment during an East Room event announcing his Middle East peace plan, after recognizing Pompeo for his contributions to the agreement.

"Wow, that's impressive," the president said of the standing ovation for the top U.S. diplomat. "That was very impressive Mike."

Trump added, "That reporter couldn't have done too good a job on you ... I think you did a good job on her, actually."

He went on to joke about speculation around Pompeo running for an open seat in the Senate representing Kansas, telling him to stay put.

"That is good, thank you, Mike," he said. "Are you running for Senate? I guess the answer is 'no' after that. They all want him to. Kansas, great state, they want him to. You're doing a great job, don't move."

It’s all about getting attention and backslapping in the media, who can be the most rude obnoxious leftist activist.

Yes the proper way to handle it is to leave her standing on the tarmac in some weird country.

Well, was she able to point to the Ukraine on a map? Enquiring minds want to know.

I don’t recall him using the word berating; did anyone here him use that word?

I wish he did.

I wish he would have actually said “I am berating you.”

I would clap twice as loud.

Was she able to locate Ukraine on an unmarked map? Depends whom you ask.

I heard her being interviewed on NPR. She claimed that Pompeo was clearly peeved at her Ukraine-focused Qs during the press conference. After everyone else had left, an aide came out and said Pompeo wanted to see her and led her into his “private living room,” whereupon he began yelling at her, sprinkling F-bombs throughout. “Can you even locate Ukraine on a map?!” “Of course.” He demanded an aide bring an unmarked map and she says she easily pointed out Ukraine.

And today, Rush Limbaugh claimed she was unable to locate Ukraine, pointing instead to Bangladesh. He didn’t cite a source for this version of the story.

So who knows, but I have a sneaking suspicion Rush is spinning tales to make the reporterette look foolish. Whatever the truth, it’s always a good thing when the smart-aleck, gotcha media is put in its place.

No she wasn’t able to find Ukraine on the map - for real.

I won’t go to an ABC artcle so don’t know if they covered this point: the woman lied to get the interview by claiming to want to talk about Iran and then wanted to talk about Ukraine and the poor female former ambassador who was fired. She was also exceptionally rude with constant interruptions. Then after the interview, she agreed to an off the record meet with Pompeo which she also violated by complaining about what was said and that Pompeo asked her to ID Ukraine — which she couldn’t. She is just another partisan hack who lacks integrity, character and intellectual honesty.
