Keep in mind that his name came up in one of the House committee hearings ... and when the Republican House member (Ratcliffe, I think) brought his name up, the witness said he didn't even know the guy.
In order to call the "whistleblower" it is first necessary to confirm -- for the record, in these proceedings -- who he is.
That's why the first witness for the defense in this case should be Michael Atkinson, the Inspector General who handled the "whistleblower" complaint. There's a reason why his secret testimony is the only transcript Schiff has not released in any form.

How I read the proposal of one-to-one:
The GOP is uncertain they have enough votes to stop witnesses and some GOP in liberal states are nervous and would like to vote for witnesses. This means the GOP needs some Democrats to vote against witnesses. Likewise, there are some Democrats who want to vote against witnesses for similar reasons.
If Hunter Biden is on the list then this gives cover to Democrats to vote against witnesses list.
End result...no witnesses and everyone in Senate is safe.
That's not what "leveraging the majority" means.
The GOP leveraged its majority perfectly in most of those cases ... because the majority of GOP senators WANTED to:
1. ... keep ObamaCare.
2. ... make the personal tax cuts temporary.
3. ... block Ratcliffe's nomination for DNI.
4. ... block Trump's Fed picks (and I was with them on this one)
5. ... block funding for "the Wall."
6. ... fund Planned Parenthood.
7. ... fund NPR.

I have never been on Bolton’s bandwagon like so many here. I would love to see him under oath to see what he says and if he backtracks anything to do with the book.
