As a fifth case of the coronavirus was confirmed in the U.S., the mayor of Wuhan has warned that the world should expect infections to keep climbing. On Sunday, Zhou Xianwang, the Mayor of Wuhan, said that 5 million people had left the city before travel restrictions were imposed ahead of the Chinese New Year.

Ma Xiaowei, the director of China's National Health Commission, said that the virus had an incubation period of 10 to 14 days, during which the virus can be contagious but the patients does not display symptoms.

Chinese new year starting up, and those five-million probably were on the ‘early-start-up’. They are all probably staying with relatives in outlying cities. The question is...when do you end the containment...at the end of the Chinese new year celebration period? That would be around the 3rd week of Feb.

It’s eye opening that 5 million humans can just up and leave their homes. When you don’t have any belongings it makes decisions like that easy. Just move to a new field and construct a bamboo hut, along with your sack of rice brought along in your wooden cart, you can survive a few months.

Do you think 5 million American citizens would just up and move like that? Not near that many get out of the way of a hurricane, and that is usually a couple days at most for those that leave. If I was a man without property, I could do that, that’s the point.

Have you seen pictures of Wuhan, it is a huge modern city ( dirty as much of China). But we aren’t talking about peasants in rice patties. And the current festival is like our Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter all rolled up into one. Huge travel back to home towns to celebrate with family.
