Sen. Ted Cruz engaged in a back-and-forth with a reporter while arguing that President Trump was justified in asking leaders in Ukraine to launch investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son.
"The House [impeachment] managers built their entire case on the proposition that investigating Burisma corruption, investigating the Bidens for corruption was baseless and a sham," Cruz said during a press conference on Monday. "That proposition is absurd ... We've just seen two hours of evidence."
A reporter pressed Cruz, saying, "But senator, none of the president's attorneys mentioned one single possible crime. Basically, what they said is [Hunter Biden] got a job, his dad was vice president. I mean, if that's a crime, shouldn't half of your children be in prison?"
"My children are nine and 11," Cruz responded. "I'm sorry you want to throw a nine-year-old in prison. So, stop playing that nasty Washington game."
The reporter responded, "That's not a nasty Washington game."
"Attacking a nine-year-old," Cruz said, before moving on with the press conference.

Hunter may be innocent. Doesn’t matter because Democrats tell us its the seriousness of the charge that matters.
The fact the Bidens are hoist on their own petard shows the Democrat attempt to torch the Trump presidency is burning them.
What comes around goes around and the Democrat media can choke on it.

There’s been no discussion, but a Prosecutor is a fairly low position for Biden, saying he’s representing the President, to be interested in.

Jake Tapper’s defense last night was everyone wanted Shorkin fired. That may be true.
What he didn’t address was the optics of Biden’s bragging about it on video look like a quid pro quo.
Exactly what the Democrats have accused Trump of doing and what the House impeached him for.
So if everyone did it - and Biden got a pass, why is Trump on trial for doing the same thing?
These people in the media and in the Democrat Party should go look in the mirror but they won’t.
Bribery? Extortion? Nepotism?
Hunter may be innocent?
The Burisma Board votes monthly, and Hunter Biden gets to vote where Europe’s energy comes from (or through).

None of which Trump is accused of. If Trump committed a real crime, Democrats and their captive media would be sure to let us know about it.
After a week of this nonsense, Democrats still don’t have a compelling case for removing the President from office. That’s the bottom line.
My point was the facts don’t matter. The appearance of wrongdoing matters.
The Democrat seriousness of the charge is the standard. Oh wait...

Hunter Biden was paid $83,333 per month - which coincidentally is exactly 1 million dollars per year - to sit on the Burisma board and do virtually nothing, with absolutely no relevant skills.
The average yearly compensation per board member for some of the world’s largest and most profitable companies is:
IBM - $334,068 per year
Citigroup - $297,407
Goldman Sachs - $560,131
General Electric - $347,825
Wells Fargo - $337,668
Ford - $357,385
The point about Hunter Biden is that he wasn’t 1/100 as qualified as any of the people on the boards of Fortune 100 companies, and yet was paid three times as much.
Clearly he was being paid so his father would help Burisma.
A quid pro quo and conflating the public with a personal benefit. What am I missing here?
The kind of conduct for which the Democrat hypocrites have placed Trump on trial.
Its OK when they do it. When Trump does it, its a hanging offense. Geez.
