Welfare didn't exist when my ancestors immigrated to America. The argument by the left is always “we are all descendants of immigrants.” There were no freebies for my ancestors waiting for them when they arrived. Just the hope and promise of America so their motives were clearer.

According to Ancestry.com, my English and European kin started arriving in the US in the 1740’s. Poor folks ........... no welfare, they had to make it on their own.

There were no immigration laws before 1884. We had all kinds of havens for immigrants...they were called charities....and Poor Houses. But you were expected to work.
