I don’t know what polling Collins is seeing in Maine. To me her public hand wringing over witnesses doesn’t make her look principled, but indecisive and weak.

I would not be surprised if the national GOP leadership has had serious conversations about cutting off her party funding ... not over principle, but out of expediency. The party’s campaign funds would probably be better spent elsewhere.
