Long before Democrats finished making their marathon impeachment case Friday night, momentum had deserted them. The loops of repetition had gone from annoying to unbearable and the wild assertions got even wilder as their talk, talk, talk became a trial of its own.
Despite the historic nature of the event, the public voted by staying away. Many gallery seats sat empty, a fact that recalls a gem from the late Yogi Berra that If the people dont want to come out to the ballpark, nobodys gonna stop them.
Still, even a fraudulent impeachment is not a laughing matter and until the Senate votes, nothing is guaranteed. To that end, President Trumps team finally got their first turn at bat Saturday and delivered several big hits in a strong start.

Democrats have played a game of smoke and mirrors, hoping you wont notice theres nothing there.
Thats the key to understanding their impeachment. Its all bogus.
Bolton shouldn’t be releasing a book at this time. If he wanted to testify that’s one thing, but screwing around with book sales during an impeachment trial is just scummy.
I used to respect him. Whatever happened with Trump is another issue, but it’s completely dishonorable for this to involve a book and moneymaking.
the left, are trying, and failing, to make the case that the ‘crime’ is in the ask- in otherwords, that just asking for the ukraine to investigate or lose money would be a crime- just as in trying to bribe an officer would be a crime-
However, I don’t believe President Trump ever even asked the ukraine to investigate or forego the aid did he?
But even if he did- withholding money when corruption is evident isn’t bribery- it’s simple good business, and not a crime- and not worthy of convicting and removing a president over- which i believe is what Derschowitz is basically saying
Hear! Hear! Williams is correct.
Bolton is playing with pond scum in the release of this book. It’s likely that the publisher has a big role in the timetable, but still...
I now believe Pelosi delayed the articles to Senate because she was told about the timing of Bolton’s book release. It goes on pre-sale today. Also, Bolton used the same publisher as COMEY. Now, what if Comey got an advance copy and made a quick call to NYT. Anything is possible.
