President Trump’s attorneys accused House Democrats of bad faith - and hiding evidence - in a scathing opening statement as they began their impeachment defense Saturday.
“They have the burden of proof and they have not come close to meeting it,” White House Counsel Pat Cipollone said as he began their two-hour presentation on the sixth day of Trump’s impeachment trial.
“We intend to show you some of the evidence that they … decided over three days and 24 hours that they didn’t have enough time, or made a decision not to, show you,” Cipollone said.
Cipollone and three other members of Trump’s eight-lawyer team deconstructed the president’s July 25 phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accuse the Democrats of cherry-picking their evidence to cast the conversation in a nefarious light.
“Every time you see one of these pieces of evidence, ask yourself, ‘Why didn’t I see that in the first three days? They had it, it came out of their process, why didn’t they show that to the Senate?’” Cipollone asked.

I have a strong feeling Monday will be Eric Ciaramella Day for the defense. All hell is going to break loose when they go through how intimately connected he is to the Spygate players AND to Schiff.
It isn’t allegedly, when at trial you are told to stand up and the court discovers you have been sitting on it.
Keep praying for our President and his family and for those who are representing him .. . may everything be presented in such a way that the entire country cannot deny the truth.
I thought Cipollone and Philbin did an excellent job, Sekulow less so. Did not hear Purpura.
The Sunday shows will cover for the Dems tomorrow. That is why Dems push to extend so the defense session slipped to today.
The Dems didn’t want play by play from Chris Plante, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, etc, etc.

Once it was easy to dismiss such rumors out of hand as too ridiculous, but after all we’ve seen already, anything is possible. No low is too low for our once opposition, now enemy these days.
The Trump team wanted the extension, too. They want to present the main body of their defense arguments on a Monday and Tuesday. Having their closing arguments presented on a Saturday would have minimized the TV exposure.

Every editor that allows a headline to use some version of the word “attack”, when all that occurs is some language usage, should be docked a week’s salary!
