Senate Impeachment Trial LIVE - day 4
You know they have nothing when they are more concerned about filling all of their available time, instead of presenting a case that takes however long it takes.
The media wing of the Dem party will use these lies and hearsay as fuel for ads and pundit comments forever.
WE HATES THE TRUMP!! WE HATES IT FOREVER....
How did I know it was a pearl-clutcher like you posting this?
***************
Anyone who questions your GOP “heroes” is a pearl clutcher.
LOL
Actually I was thinking tonight all of the blackmail notes will be delivered to a dozen GOP senators and 2 Dems. Plus a special reminder to the Chief Justice. Maybe with tickets to a NM ranch holiday.
An amazingly weak case, based on conjecture, mind reading, supposition, lies, out of context, ad nauseam....
About 75% of what they are saying is lies. The other 25% is clips and snippets out of context. selective. just like they were leaking selective clips from Schiff’s bunker. I mean you know that Trump’s team can easily refute this, when they play the entire clip.
Still harping for witnesses at every turn.
During this segment of the Senate Impeachment Trial, the opposition and the Senators are not permitted to raise objections. They must stand mute. Even the Chief Justice has to remain mute, just listen. The managers are free to say what ever they want.
All it takes is some idiot on msnbc/cnn to say "debunked" and they will mindlessly repeat it.
Nobody said they were heroes. Stop putting words in people's mouths. You sound like Schiff's brother.
The trial is going fine. The Demon-rats are looking like the fools that they are. People are bored beyond measure. Kids on the college campuses aren't even paying attention in the least.
The last thing needed is for you to wring the tears of your handkerchief over all of us. I'd rather drink the tears of the Demon-rats.
Really - can you point to the appropriate federalist paper for that insight? Because, on the contrary, what we're witnessing is **exactly** what the founders predicted if impeachment were to become a purely partisan political tool.
Which brings up another point: because the Trump impeachment is an entirely political affair, rules & procedures fall not under standard legal doctrine, but rather stay firmly entrenched with the political domain. That means anything that typically occurs during a campaign, including lying, slander, libel, fabricating evidence, making false claims - the whole gamut of "dirty tricks" - are all fair game. And if you don't believe it, then why did the senate adopt rules that allow exactly this kind of behavior?
What people should be paying attention to is the game within the game. That is, after the GOP is finished with it's allotted time and the "trial" wraps up with acquittal, the real fun & game begin. There are literally hours of footage available to use for commercials, to fine tune for bullet points, and to flood the media with particular spin. That's why this impeachment was invoked; not to remove Trump, but to possibly defeat him. And barring that, perhaps hold the house and/or gain the senate, from which they can stall his agenda.
Here is how bizarre their case is .. 1) Yesterday they made a big deal about how Trump had given Ukraine aid in 2017 ($500m) and 2018 ($400m) , but stopped/held aid in 2019 (trying to make the case he held it to get dirt on Biden) .
But today 2) Saying that our national security was endangered by Trump not giving Ukraine aid...
Of course the facts are, Russian invaded Ukraine and annexed Crimea in 2012. Obama did nothing. They asked for aid, and he gave them MRE’s and blankets..... When Trump came in 2017, he DID give them hundreds of millions of dollars in aid, and military equipment,
LOL what an illogical laugher.
Keeping it simple....I think you’re right.
The President’s lawyers will use their time wisely tomorrow to counter the lying just in time for the Sunday shows.
Or that’s what I am hoping.
Is that you Mitch?
Its amazing that some people seem willing to accept the idea of legitimizing and dignifying complete, in-your-face, utter nonsense. Its a tribute, in a perverse way, to the Democrats for getting away with pushing such an absurd circus and having the Republican controlled senate actually treat it in a serious manner.
Its really stunning to see complete garbage treated with such reverence and credibility. Its no wonder that people hold the congress in such abysmally low regard.
Good Grief! Schiff is bringing back Russian Collusion and just asserted that Trumps people just repeatedly LIED to the Mueller Investigators! He apparently claims that they DID collude with the Russians and this is just more of the same.
Yes, even before the GOP response, for the simple reason that it would represent a macro version of the widely used reply to a lunatic claim ie "don't dignify it with a response".
What could/would the progs say? That Trump should have a defense? Dismissal would be more of a humiliation, rather than giving the left yet another chance at rebuttal.
Two, Collins et al should now be braced for claims that they are 'Russian' assets, part of the conspiracy, cover-up, etc. That is, rather than insulting certain senators who were going to vote to acquit Trump anyway, the left cleverly laid down the opening salvos of how these particular campaigns are going to be run.
Which is ironic, because Collins et al are going to learn that the good old days of polite disagreement are long gone. If she really was shocked, she's either going to have to channel her inner Trump and fight back in his bare knuckled street brawl manner, or be prepared for the same media treatment Trump gets 24/7 until she collapses in a crying heap.
The Mueller Report had to be a crushing disappointment to Schiff. He is certifiably insane and/or corrupt to the core.
The more these senators hear, I would think they would become disgusted with him and vote in favor of the President.
I think that someone missed the news that DOJ has pretty much said the all the FISA court investigations of Trump campaign are fruit from the poison tree (legal term I think is correct for obtaining warrant by lying to judge)
This was just posted by Chad Pergram, a Fox reporter doing twitter play-by-play of the trial. It’s actually funny:
“GOP FL Sen Rick Scott on trial: We saw that protester yell something bad about Chuck Schumer. Im thinking about possibly doing the same thing so the Sergeant- at-Arms will take me out also. This is ridiculous. Weve heard the same thing three days in a row.”
