Where does it say that a "journalistic community" has any obligation to be "watchdogs" for anyone?
I think your problem is that you have completely unrealistic and delusional expectations about what "journalists" are. And those expectations are based on the sanctimonious bullsh!t that journalists themselves peddle about who and what they are.
I have news for you: "Journalists" are one step above arsonists, child molesters, and most lawyers when it comes to their importance in the affairs of our society.
