I read a study debunking the gay animals claim, I just wish I could find it again. But from I what I read in the rare instances when homosexuality happens amongst animals it’s normally due to misidentification.
Not that it matters much. Sex is an instinctive behavior that nature, or the God of nature if you prefer, designed solely for the purpose of procreation. It is the very reason we are divided into male and female counterparts. Sexual attraction between same sexes is unnatural, illogical, and nonsensical.
I read a study out of Oxford debunking the claim as well. I also should have saved it somewhere. The gist of it was that the claim comes from the authors engaging in category error. Animals have a limited number of behaviors. Sometimes they’ll use similar behaviors for different reasons. (ex: dogs mount other dogs as an expression of dominance) This is not homosexuality. Dogs don’t try to engage in reproductive behavior with the same sex.
