CNN anchor John Berman had harsh words for senators who did not stay inside the Senate chamber as the House impeachment managers presented their case against President Trump on Wednesday.
Berman especially called out Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
"The presentation from the House managers is earning praise even from Republicans. We have a picture to show you, late last night, thats Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the presidents fiercest defenders, telling lead manager Adam Schiff that he had done a good job. Really well-spoken, he said. Although it does beg the question, how would Senator Graham know? He wasnt in his chair for chunks of the arguments," Berman said.
"In fact, many of the senators of both parties were not at their desk at different times despite the rules which will require the apparently herculean task of sitting down for a few hours. "This isnt digging ditches, this isnt manning a fox hole, this isnt working an assembly line. This is sitting in a chair and enjoying all the milk you can drink," he continued. "But I guess its not like the future of the Republic is at stake. Oh, wait, it is! Remember, this is the so-called upper House, the cooling saucer, the higher chamber. Those cushy six-year terms, which apparently arent long enough for some to spare a few minutes to sit down."
Berman later noted throughout the show that Paul was working on a crossword puzzle during the arguments.
With regards to the case Schiff was presenting to the Senate, Jay Sekulow, a member of President Trump's defense team, told reporters how it was wrong for Schiff to invoked the phrase "quid pro quo" when talking about Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky since "quid pro quo" is not one of the two impeachment articles.
"Thats because they didnt exist. So, you know, there is a lot of things well rebut but we will do it in an orderly and I hope more systematic fashion," he said.
House Democrats impeached Trump on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
CNN Anchor Scolds Senators Who Weren't Staying In Their Chairs During Impeachment Trial
I’m not watching so I don’t know how many “breaks” there are in the action, but half the Senate is composed of septuagenarians or better. Feinstein is way up there. Bathroom runs, even a mini-nap, might be necessary for these folks. Before anyone suggests they shouldn’t take the job if they can’t handle it, the voters put them there.
I would love to see everyone of these gutter crawling MSM rats get punched in the mouth. I would pay to see Joe Frasier deck this clown and all the rest of them.

Oh no! John Berman (who the hell is that?) scolded the senate; whatever will we do...?
Neither am I.
I'm watching Bonanza on INSP
This could lead to leftist celebrities sharing their virtue signaling opinions.
CNN is part of parcel of the Democrat Party.
Fiddlesticks!
I think we’ve found the nutty leftist who have been forcing Pelosi’s hand....
democRats break rules hallucinating sleep inducing redundant traitorous charges and then have the gall arrogantly claiming Hunter Biden’s testimony is off the table proving beyond a shadow of doubt that democrats inclusive are off their rocker!
I would not be surprised if all the Democrats walk out once Trump’s team begin their 24 hours of reply.
Why should we care? Unlike the Senate, Im not forced to watch it.
This is the impeachment trial no one wanted. Its backfired on the Democrats.
I switched off CNN today after Nadler lost me with populists and demagogues.
What if had to do with impeachable offenses, I dont care and I dont want to watch 8 hours of it.
Enough already.
Let them. Itll lead to a vote of acquittal. Its going to be 53-47.
