Historian Slams Greta Thunberg: "I don't see her in Beijing or Delhi"; Why are the biggest polluters being ignored?

Historian Niall Ferguson has slammed Greta Thunberg’s climate change hypocrisy at Davos, asking why “I don’t see her in Beijing or Delhi.”

Teenage environmentalist Thunberg gave another hysterical speech at the global confab yesterday in which she claimed, “Our house is still on fire. Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour. We are still telling you to panic, and to act as if you loved your children above all else.”

“We don’t want these things done in 2050, 2030, or even 2021,” Thunberg said. “We want this done now.”

Ferguson, Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, questioned why Thunberg isn’t directing her message to the biggest polluters on the planet.

“60% of CO2 emissions since Greta Thunberg was born is attributable to China… but nobody talks about that. They talk as if its somehow Europeans and Americans who are going to fix this problem… which is frustrating because it doesn’t get to the heart of the matter,” said Ferguson.

“If you’re serious about slowing CO2 emissions and temperatures rising it has to be China and India you constrain,” he added, noting that while Greta travels to New York and Davos, “I don’t see her in Beijing or Delhi.”

Ferguson is right. Take the UK for example.

“Britain’s CO2 emissions peaked in 1973 and are now at their lowest level since Victorian times,” reports the Spectator. “Air pollution has plummeted since then, with sulphur dioxide levels down 95 per cent. Britain’s population is rising but our energy consumption peaked in 2001 and has since fallen by 19 per cent.”

This global pollution map published by the WHO perfectly illustrates Ferguson’s point ( see below ).

Even if you believe wholeheartedly in the decidedly shaky science behind man-made global warming, the west is more than doing its part. But we’re the ones being lectured to not travel, not eat meat and not have children despite already being in massive demographic decline.

Meanwhile, Africa, India and China continue to wantonly pollute and none of Greta Thunberg’s fury or the attention of the media is ever directed their way.

On top of this, Greta continues to have her message amplified by the likes of Prince ‘4 private jet trips in 11 days’ Harry and Arnold ‘garage full of tanks and muscle cars’ Schwarzenegger.

Correct. Why isn’t Greta Thunberg showing up in China, a country with some of the world’s worst air and water pollution problems??

Simple answer — She won’t be able to speak as freely as she does when she is in the West.

Why isn’t she targeting the biggest and fastest growing polluters?
They are not the rich and capitalist Christian based nations that the marxist-muslim coalition wants to bleed and destroy.
It’s the Death to America crowd at work, the ones aligned with obama.

In China and India, she would be ridiculed as the child she is.

sigh- she’s not on a ‘pollution tour’, she’s on an ‘evil man caused climate change tour’- she and ilk want to control the masses by controlling their money- and the only way to do that is to invent a fictional climate crisis out of thin air-

CO2 isn’t a pollutant- it’s plant food- but for some reason- insane liberals want plants to starve and freeze to death

Because the target is capitalism, and Trump.

Well, China likes to pretend she is communist.

Because it is politically correct to attack rich Western Countries like United States, especially if the country is strong militarily.

Liberals do not relish attacking third world or communist countries.

China is communist for the portion which allows it to control the masses, but China is capitalist allowing some individuals to create manufacturing wealth by exports.

Because New World Order Leftist Globalist scum are only interested in destroying the United States of America??

Voting Democrat has the same effect on America.

John Ankerberg had a recent show where he mentioned power shifting to Europe in the end times. I only found the first video - not the one where they describe that in more detail. Maybe I can find it.

,,, in an ideal world the media would discern between opinion and news and cut off her oxygen. The brat needs someone her age to counter her and start a movement to say no to goods of Chinese origin. That would help the environment.

Trump said the same thing at his Davos presser.

It’s a must watch, he said OldNads and Schiff were sleezebags.

Assuming that Niall wasn’t merely posing a rhetorical question, the answer is that the silly twit would likely be put up against a wall and shot, of course.

Trump is starting to take out the Left re: “climate change”.
Difference is, where they offer doom & gloom & hysteria & crippling demands, he offers hope & growth.
I don’t have much details handy (Scott Adams covered it well yesterday), but do know Trump is embracing:
- 4th gen nuclear power
- trillion-trees initiative
- US drop in “emissions”
etc

As “conservatives”, we do have an axiomatic position of conserving - a term better viewed as “stewardship”, not “religious Druidic hysteria”. Improving technology to reduce resource use & pollution is a good thing - so long as it also, profitably, improves standards of living & economy.

With election season upon us, Trump needs to yank the “climate change” issue out from the grip of the Left. In doing so, he will leave the Gretas with nothing but self-flagellation to offer, while he takes, on our behalf, a position of an actually better & flourishing culture.

Again, I don’t have much details on hand yet ... but watch Trump masterfully take over this issue in the next few months.
