Starting this month, you might find a new surcharge tacked onto the bottom of your restaurant bill.

“I wish there was some way they would notice my boycott.”
I try to not even use the SF airport
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that maybe Californians are smart enough to recognize fake charity, which is why the state forces upon the citizens.
How about surcharges to ‘save the polar bears’... oh wait, that BS has been disproved.
Maybe a surcharge to save us from an ever widening ozone hole...oops that ones been disproved too.
I know - they can charge more to save us from acid rain... forgot - that was BS too.
Guess they’ll have to stay with ‘global warming’ for a few more years... until that one’s trashed on their heap of total ‘sky is falling’ failures...
Don’t avoid these restaurants. I suggest forming a group that goes to places like this and orders their most expensive meals, eats them, then walks out without paying.
I’d bet Administrative cost eat up most of the pie
My buddy and I had just left our jobs in SF around 1990. We met up the next year, he and his wife had relocated to Oregon and I moved to Texas. He began fantasizing of moving back to the Bay area when I said to him, look around. Do you think it is better now, equal or worse. He said, worse, bad idea.
Instead of a 1% surcharge, these leftist restaurants could simply ask people if they’d like to donate to some “climate justice” cause and let them choose the amount. While still obnoxious, it would likely result in fewer complaints, and I’m willing to bet that they’d actually bring in more than the 1% surcharge would.
But, as we know, the Left is all about control. And I doubt the money will actually go where they claim it’s going to go.
Some SF restaurants to introduce climate change surcharge

I love seeing stupid Leftists getting fleeced by their own kind.
It will prevent our sun from doing what the sun does.
It will prevent our moon from doing what the moon does.
And it will prevent our tides in our oceans and our volcanos (etc. etc.) from doing what they do.
It will make our planet's environment, static.
Customer: But all I had was a glass of water.
Waiter: "yes, however, you asked for and used a plastic straw."
And then they will wonder why their daily customer numbers dropped.
Just one more reason not to visit the S**thole by the Bay, formerly known as Baghdad by the Bay.
One more reason I’m thrilled to NOT live in SF. Or CA for that matter.
