Border guards in Russias north west last week arrested a man who had set up a bogus border outpost with Finland and taken thousands of euros from migrants for what they thought was a journey through the woods to the European Union.
The man, who was only identified as a citizen of one of the former Soviet Union republics, put up border posts in the forest outside St Petersburg and charged four men from South Asia more than 10,000 euros (£8,400) for his services for smuggling them into neighbouring Finland, Russias Border Guard Service said on Wednesday.

Hilarious!!!
Oooookay.
.
Finland never joined any treaties banning land mines because they want to keep mining their border with Russia. Same reason that this small country has the third largest arsenal of artillery pipes in the world after Russia and the US.
They are p!ssed, those were supposed to be their bribes and they don’t like the competition.

.
LOL
Now that’s clever.
do you have a link supporting this note re: “the third largest arsenal of artillery” ???
Reminds me of “Operation Stone” in Communist Czechoslovakia, where they created a fake border and US Base to fool people into thinking they had crossed into West Germany. They even had fake US troops interviewing them so they could find out who helped them to escape.

Freegards
LOL I clicked just to post that exact comment!
“Was that wrong, comrade?”
Wrote a longer nice post and my phone deleted it. Recap: not by all pipes I found out. Maybe pipes starting and above 155mm, but no source.
I think South Asia is how the Europeans describe Muslims.
The smuggler was probably Georgian. It sounds like their style.
The unidentified smuggler now faces charges of fraud.
******
So that’s what the kids are calling not paying kickbacks these days?
Is this guy of Nigerian heritage???
