Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) mocked House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Sunday over her repeated insistence that President Donald Trump will be impeached forever, saying that by the time the Senate is done with the trial, Trump will be acquitted forever of these bogus charges.
Real quick, how likely is it that we see a motion to dismiss in the first after the first 48 hours, after you actually look at those articles? Fox News Maria Bartiromo asked Cruz on Sunday Morning Futures.
You know, I dont think it is that likely, Cruz responded. And the reason is, I think dismissing this case is a much less attractive option than rendering final judgment and acquitting the president.
And the reason is twofold, Cruz said. Number one, if you do a dismissal, a dismissal doesnt reach the merits. An acquittal, a verdict of not guilty, that verdict stands for all time.

I wanted to post that myself. Pelosi is being Unamerican. In America you’re innocent until proven guilty, and upon acquittal the charge is wiped clean. She’s a Nazi.
I’m dying to see how this really goes.
1) Quick dismissal?
2) Focus attention on the 2 articles? A few weeks of testimony and then acquittal?
3) Deep dive into everything the Democrats have been doing for the past 3 years? That would be educational.
#3 seems unlikely but it will bring the dark to the light, it would aid in awakening people, and it would be a good way to get information out that otherwise would be awkward to suddenly reveal.
Ted is clearly a better sport than anybody in the Bush family.
I predict:
2) Focus attention on the 2 articles? A few weeks of testimony and then acquittal?
The question is, how much leeway will the Republicans give the Rats on bringing witness, and how much leeway with the President get?
I think they should attempt to even the score with the Rats after the House farce.
“2) Focus attention on the 2 articles? A few weeks of testimony and then acquittal?”
On day 1, I would ask for the case to be dismissed because the house didn’t meet the burden of proof of what a President can be impeached for. Why fool with this in the senate if the house never met the criteria for the articles?
If Ted Cruz had won the nomination, he *may* have won the election (though I doubt it) -- and he'd be the one who'd been impeached by now.
Excellent!!
2 I’m thinking with some of 3 to prime the pump.
Nan doesn’t get it.
Impeached = charged
Lots of people are charged with stuff. The Duke La cross team case rings a bell, and it’s looking like Nancy has a lot in common with Nifong.
Interesting comment given Cruz’s GOP Senate has to this point done nothing but validate the Stalinist show trial produced by the House Dems.
I think after the House Managers beclown themselves and it is Trump’s turn, Introduce ALL Electronic Communications from Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, The CIA SPY, Atkinson clearly demonstrating the entire “Impeachment Sham” was a Pre-Planned Seditious Conspiracy to Overthrow the United States Presidency that started well before the infamous phone call, then AG Barr can ARREST THEM ON THE SENATE FLOOR!!
Pelosi, and following generations of liberals, will be stuck trying to explain why they impeached a President on such flimsy charges that fail to allege breaking any laws.
I want a quick dismissal, the articles of impeachment are unconstitutional GARBAGE, they should not be dignified with a trial.
As soon as the impeachment is dismissed or Trump is acquitted, the putrid disgusting House Rats will try to impeach Trump again and again. They have said theyll do that, and they will.
Cruz has vindicated himself, at least for now.
Cruz has been very consistent with his support after his melt down upon loosing the nomination... if he runs five years from now I could support him because I believe that he would continue most of what trump has been doing or at lest trying to get done...we need to start thinking now about after trump because if given half a chance the never Trumper’s or what I think of as the limousine republicans will start to collude with the demacrat party to reverse everything.
In November, absent industrial-scale vote fraud, this sham impeachment will be Vetoed!
I agree with you.
They said they would do it, BUT THEY WON'T. They are going to have their heads handed to them during the trial, then Trump wins in a landslide in November. Game over. Rats are going to jail during DJT's 2nd term.
