Andrew Peek, the head of European and Russian affairs at the National Security Council (NSC), has left his post three months after he started, people familiar with the situation told Bloomberg on Saturday evening.
Sources told the publication that Peek was escorted from the White House on Friday.
Earlier on Saturday, Axios reported that Peek had been placed on administrative leave pending a security-related investigation.
Peek joined the NSC in November, coming over from the State Department, where he was a deputy assistant secretary.
An NSC spokesman told The Hill, "We do not discuss personnel matters."
Peek also declined requests for comment from Bloomberg and Axios.
Peek was reportedly expected to accompany President Trump to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, next week.

“escorted out”...
Hmm. He was walked. That’s usually a fairly serious security violation.
I want to go on record right now to state that I have never been escourted out of a work environment!..... escorted out of a bar maybe or a party maybe but never never never asked ordered out of a work environment
I wonder if the Rats will now try and call him as a witness in the impeachment trial?
So was Peek swamp or swamped?
I have been, right after Obama's re-election in 2012. Defense contractor cutbacks in California, which had been occurring since late 2006. Since I was laid off and just signed away my security clearances, I had to be escorted out of the building. I don't think I ever hated Obama and business-hostile California more than at that moment.
At least Trump will know who was behind this?
If the guy clears than something is definitely not right.

I have by sheriff deputies.
As the Dotcom bubble hit, the tech company I was working for called all employees in for an emergency meeting. We were all in conference rooms and the boom was lowered. The company was filing for bankruptcy and no longer in business effective at the top of the hour. A deputy would escort an employee to their desk and allow them to pick up their personal belongings. A sad but happy day.
I can just guess what *kind* of escort, from the picture /swish>

“pretty boy”
I worked at a large company that was collapsing. I accepted a buyout when the gettin’ was still good. The day of the layoff, I first laid off most of my group. Then I got the exit interview and was escorted out. We all met in the parking lot and went out for drinks.
The last company that I worked for I was in a upper middle management position. I announced that I was planning to retire within a year or so. I ended up getting included in a layoff pool for whatever reason with a very slow trigger. At the exit interview, I did the usual paperwork but kept my badge. I started in a consulting role immediately afterward. 10 years later I’m still doing some consulting for them.
Just more of the nsa trying to sabotage Trump.
Yeah, when we were bought out a similar thing happened.
We could hear the locksmiths drilling out the old door locks during the meeting...
The new owners tore out all the clean room and process equipment and moved it half way across the country, and pressured the landlord to never allow a similar business to occupy the site.
They did stop short of burning the building down and salting the earth, but not by much.
I wonder if the Rats will now try and call him as a witness in the impeachment trial?
Wouldnt put it past them.
LIz Peek son.
...ok. Who is Liz Peek?
He looks like a Mayor Pete supporter...if you know what I mean.
