Russia’s defense ministry accuses Armia Krayova of ‘destroying Jews’ in Warsaw, amid feud with Poland over war’s history
Russia’s defense ministry on Friday accused the Polish resistance movement that staged the Warsaw uprising of 1944 of “destroying Jews,” in the latest salvo of Moscow’s feud with Poland over WWII history.
The accusations were posted with a trove of declassified documents called “Warsaw Under Fire” on the 75th anniversary of Soviet forces’ taking the city after more than five years of occupation by Nazi Germany.
The Russian defense ministry published a multimedia website Friday to mark the anniversary with scans of documents about Nazi concentration camps, photos and lengthy reports by Soviet officers.

I wrote a college thesis paper on the Katyn massacre. I’m reasonably sure the Soviets did it. I mean, Yeltsin even apologized to the Poles.
Not to say that given the chance Poles wouldn’t mind killing a few thousand Russians for business, or pleasure...

It was decisive; if Japan had attacked in the east while the rest of the Axis did so in the West there was no chance of saving the USSR. By the end of the war much of the Soviet army was composed of non-European troops.

What makes you think so? The history of East Front in the West is written by the losers who wanted to look good.
It is bad winter, human waves and crazy Hitler by their book.
The fact that they weren’t up to tast isn’t acknowledged.
The Japanese did better analisys than the Germans and didn’t attack for that reason.
Russia would be much better off aligning with the United States but they don’t want to change.

Of course it failed. The Brits are all fart and no fecal matter to back it.
That is why they need others to fight their battles and then claim the spoils. Be it Russian, Americans or Iroquois.
That’s funny of course. Especially in light of impeachment. Not if it was any better since Clinton presidency before.
In order to make alliances nations need mutual interests. US has exactly zero for Russia to offer.
The Japanese needed to obtain oil; it is the main reason the “Strike South” mentality won out over the “Strike North” group.
Germany had endured three winters to force Russia to surrender in 1917; I’ve never mentioned that as a reason for their defeat. Hitler was foolish and evil in his methods, but not crazy.
I always hold out some hope for it. A liberalized, free Russia would be a great step forward for the world.
It had about ten years of liberal government by Clinton puppets. That finally brought Putin who tried to be an American puppet for quite some time too. It didn’t work well to put it mildly and that is why it is not coming back.
Not Hitler. The entire German political and military class was stupid to believe they might conquer all of Europe.
There is the reason why the Spanish and not the Germans conquered the World for the European civilization.

The Spanish? I don’t understand. The international language of business today is English, a Germanic language - not a Romance language (like Spanish) or a Slavic language (like Russian). The course of European civilization was decided in 9 AD when the Germanic tribes defeated the Romans in Teutoberg Forest; the seeds were planted for the eventual Anglo-Saxon dominance of the known world, which reached much farther than Rome ever could. Northern Europe and the British Isles would eventually lead an industrial revolution that would reduce much of the world to raw material suppliers and customers.
Germany’s political class were Hitler’s puppets, and their military class was routinely ignored by Hitler. Many of the apolitical older German officers despised him, and he sacked good generals for petty reasons (losing their expertise).
A Polish soldier encounters a German and a Russian soldier, which does he shoot first? The German, of course, business before pleasure.
English is a business language because one European power took over after another.
The global domination of European civilization was already a fact at the time.
And by the way Romans and Slavs are European too.
The irony is that because of all the refugees who are coming to Europe, most of whom speak English, the host countries may be forced to adopt English as an official language, because let’s face it, somebody from Africa, isn’t going to be highly motivated to learn Swedish if they already speak English.
I know Romans and Slavs are Europeans - and their air traffic controllers speak English, not Latin or Russian. I said “the course of European history” was determined by northern Europe and the British Isles.
