Russias defense ministry accuses Armia Krayova of destroying Jews in Warsaw, amid feud with Poland over wars history
Russias defense ministry on Friday accused the Polish resistance movement that staged the Warsaw uprising of 1944 of destroying Jews, in the latest salvo of Moscows feud with Poland over WWII history.
The accusations were posted with a trove of declassified documents called Warsaw Under Fire on the 75th anniversary of Soviet forces taking the city after more than five years of occupation by Nazi Germany.
The Russian defense ministry published a multimedia website Friday to mark the anniversary with scans of documents about Nazi concentration camps, photos and lengthy reports by Soviet officers.

Of course, but you make it out like Russia is always innocent and Poland is bad.
Splitting hair. They weren't called USSR until 1922, but the polity they evolved from existed.
Sorry, I’m not Alinskyite like you. I disputed facts, but you keep making up your own. But not many people are as chauvinistic as you, so I think it helps to know where you are coming from. You think Russia is infallible and Poland, the U.S., and U.K. are bad.
“” “” Poland was no more aggressive than Ukraine. You never seem to mention the territories the Ukraine took that were parts of Hungary and Romania?”” “”
Individual Ukrainians aside, Ukraine wasn’t aggressive. As for parts of Hungary and Romania they didn’t decide it. The Soviets annexed it to Ukraine to make it easier to defend. That was mostly based on Molotov-Ribbentrop. The Soviets also attached a nice piece of Germany to Poland. Poland seems like doesn’t object.
“” “Your philosophy seems to be: 1. Russia is always right. 2. Ukrained is right against every country except Russia. 3. Poland is always wrong. Russia is always right.” “” “
Not at all. My philosophy is exactly opposite. I don’t believe in the concept of a ‘good guy’ in geopolitics. There are good and bad things and then these might be explained based on understanding of national interests of involved parties.
“”””Sorry, Im not Alinskyite like you. “”””
Please, show me where did I personally attack you or attributed any laughable claims to you to ridicule your point?
There wasn’t such a thing and you did both on that same thread.
“”””I disputed facts, but you keep making up your own.””””
You ‘disputed’ facts using pieces of Cold War propaganda. I replied to it with actual facts.
“””” But not many people are as chauvinistic as you””””
Yep, you keep doing it:)
“”””You think Russia is infallible and Poland, the U.S., and U.K. are bad.””””
LOL. May you quote me doing it?
Every party above is somehow guilty in wartime and postwar Polish situation. There are no good guys and the Polish leaders of the era are the gultiest party of all maybe only behind Hitler. It doesn’t mean Russia is infallible but it didn’t do a thing to Poland Poland itself didn’t or planned to do to others.
Russia would have fallen eventually, without the MASSIVE amounts of supplies, vehicles, and weapons that US industry supplied them with. Communism was an economic disaster for every country which adopted it.
Once US industry started cranking out massive production of planes, tanks, and ships, the Axis was doomed.
“” “” Russia would have fallen eventually, without the MASSIVE amounts of supplies, vehicles, and weapons that US industry supplied them with.”” “”
Fallen to what? No more than 8% of Soviet territory ever fell under Axis control but factually much less was under Nazi occupation at any given time.
The idea that Germany could have prevailed with or without Allied aid is laughable. It is about as realistic as if Japan has landed in California and conquered everything up to Washington DC.
Don’t use “Russia” to describe the Soviet Union; it is a critical difference, because plenty of their casualties were from Ukrainians and Balts fighting AGAINST Stalin.
Poland fought and lost a short war against Hitler and Stalin in 1939; plenty of countries didn’t even oppose them.
In 1917 Russia surrendered to the Central Powers; the shortcomings of Hitler’s leadership alone were the only reason they didn’t fall in 1941. His policies turned a potential ally (Ukraine) into an enemy, and had created a military designed for short-duration, short-range wars in Europe itself.
Not really. When it comes to civilians the majority of dead are in Ukraine and Belarus. More than half of military casualties on Soviet side are coming from RSFSR although it includes a number of Asian minorities.
The number of German collaborators wasn’t incredibly high and their casualties were counted separately.
“” “” In 1917 Russia surrendered to the Central Powers; the shortcomings of Hitlers leadership alone were the only reason they didnt fall in 1941.”” “”
In fact the first part of your statement is a German line. That sort of thinking was behind the Hitler’s decision to invade.
In reality in 1917 Russia was a broken middle age feudal monarchy largely inhabited by illiterate peasants and in a middle of large scale leftist uprising.
In 1941 it had 3 times the 1917 economy and heavily industrialized with near 100% literate population and mostly united.
Russia itself took high casualties, but they killed plenty of their own (Russians).
Given the aftermath, there is nothing heroic about the Soviet victory in WWII; the ensuing Cold War (and the localized “hot” wars) indicate the world would have been better off if both Stalin AND Hitler had perished. In my area there are a lot of Eastern Europeans, and they don’t celebrate V-E Day as a positive thing - their countries were enslaved for nearly a half century afterwards.
From an American standpoint, the USSR only survived because they wouldn’t engage Japan; the Soviets themselves admitted this, defending Moscow with troops transferred from the Far East.
In 1941 it was saved by a truce with Japan, nothing less. They’ve admitted it themselves. Instead of a feudal monarchy it was a Bolshevik gulag; that is why they had to kill returning POWs who could expose the lies.
Moving troops from the Pacific theater helped deliver the Germans the sweeping defeat in the battle of Moscow but in terms of overall endgame it wasn’t a decisive factor.
Its true that there was a lot of antisemitism in Poland and yes, some Poles did murder some Jews in WWII.
Still, to see the Russians/Commies point an accusatory finger at anybody is the height of absurdity. They were every bit as murderous and brutal as the Nazis.
Duda was absolutely right to do what he did.
Look at all the idiot Holocaust deniers out there.
I see no connection between his speech and Holocaust deniers.
He is not welcome in Israel as a result and Poland is viewed as an anti-Semitic nation there.
He’s from Novosibirsk.
There were many idiots out there using the term “Polish Death Camps”, even Obama used the term.
It’s important that as The Holocaust goes further and further into the rear-view mirror of history, that the truth doesn’t fade with it.
