Not only were they denied calling witnesses, they were often gaveled down and denied asking questions. You should watch the schiff and nadler hearings, absolutely insane. I watched them all.

Someone on Facebook is insisting that the republicans did call witnesses to the House proceedings
So ask "someone on Facebook" who the witnesses were.

If "someone on Facebook said it, it must be true.

Did they finally come up with a crime to accuse Trump of?
Since the impeachment articles fail to enumerate one.

111 pages is not a “brief.”

Just wanted to make sure I had my facts straight. Interesting they call it a trial as it is a political proceedings not a legal one

Nope. They didn’t.

The report claims they called three. Only one I can think of was one of the four at the stupid hearing on impeachment

It could have been a LOT ‘briefer”

Why not just say “We don’t like the S.O.B. now that he’s not giving us ‘campaign’ money”?

They might get a conviction on that one

I believe they called Jonathon Turley during Nadlers Little Circus.

They also go all out to try to refute that the Ukrainians didn’t interfere in the election. They also injected the GAO report even though it only happened a few days ago.

The GAO report is cited numerous times throughout this case. It wasn’t just added two days ago. They had it in advance. That’s obvious. It’s release on impeachment articles transmission day was planned. This proves it.

"Someone on Facebook is insisting that the republicans did call witnesses to the House proceedings"

So ask "someone on Facebook" who the witnesses were.

If "someone on Facebook said it, it must be true.

Technically, it’s true. They were allowed to call witnesses, but only one was permitted to testify, and that was one of the expert law professors who was also a Democrat who was also on the Democrats’ list of potential witnesses. . . he was effective for the Republicans on Constitution law, but the Dems ignored everything Professor Turley said, just as they’ve ignored everything their own witnesses said that impeached their own testimony in their brief they filed, which in most cases proved their testimony as presented was mere assertions, assumptions, and speculation of what they heard from third parties.

I saw many things asserted as factual that were not, and many statements taken completely taken out of context, taking partial sentences or phrases and pasting them into a pastiche that turned them into something they were not.

They rely heavily on Ambassador Sondland, as if he were the font of all factual knowledge. He wasn’t. He admitted it was all surmise and assumptions on his part under oath, but they quote him ex cathedra.

Nadler’s resolution. December 2019

The resolution was only 9 pages. Articles_Final

https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/democrats.judiciary.house.gov/files/documents/articles%20of%20impeachment.pdf

RESOLUTION

Impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors.

Resolved, That Donald J. John Trump, President of the United States, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors1 and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate:

Articles of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, against Donald J. John Trump2, President of the United States of America, in maintenance and support of
its impeachment against him for high crimes and misdemeanors.

ARTICLE I: ABUSE OF POWER

The Constitution provides that the House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment” and that the President “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”. In his conduct of the office of President of the United States — and in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed — Donald J. Trump has abused the powers of the Presidency3, in that:

Using the powers of his high office, President Trump solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States Presidential election. He did so through a scheme or course of conduct that included soliciting the Government of Ukraine to publicly announce investigations that would benefit his reelection, harm the election prospects of a political opponent, and influence the 2020 United States Presidential election to his advantage. President Trump also sought to pressure the Government of Ukraine to take these steps by condi-
tioning official United States Government acts of significant value to Ukraine on its public announcement of the investigations. President Trump engaged in this scheme or course of conduct for corrupt purposes in pursuit of personal political benefit. In so doing, President Trump used the powers of the Presidency in a manner that compromised the national security of the United States and undermined the integrity of the United States democratic process. He thus ignored and injured the interests of the Nation.

President Trump engaged in this scheme or course of conduct through the following means:

(1) President Trump — acting both directly and through his agents within and outside the United States Government — corruptly solicited the Government of Ukraine to publicly announce investigations into —

(A) a political opponent, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.; and

(B) a discredited theory promoted by Russia alleging that Ukraine — rather than Russia — interfered in the 2016 United States Presidential election.

(2) With the same corrupt motives, President Trump — acting both directly and through his agents
