A new poll ranks U.S. Sen. Susan Collins as the least popular senator.
The poll, released Thursday by the Morning Consult, found a 42 percent approval rate for Collins and 52 percent disapproval rate among Maine voters surveyed.
The fourth quarter ranking represents a 10 percent drop in Collins net approval rating.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R KY, ranked as the second least popular senator with 50 percent of Kentucky voters disapproving of his performance.
The rankings are based on a survey given to 494,899 registered voters nationwide between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31. Participants could answer whether they strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, strongly disapprove, or dont know/ have no opinion on their U.S. senator.
Collins is up for re-election and faces what is expected to be the most expensive campaign of her career. She has recently come under scrutiny for her vote to support Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and has faced pressure from both sides as President Trumps impeachment trial unfolds.

Hello, it wasn’t just a vote, it was a lengthy speech that put paid to the bullsh8. How soon we forget.
anyone know the prospects of picking up more republican senators?
Smile... agreed...
Electing a Democrat = electing Collins. The main difference is that we can be more sure of where the Democrat will stand on the issues that matter.
She needs to be challenged in the Primary.
Dang! Old age sure plays tricks... Thanks for the correction... {:-)
Although I was only about 3000-miles off, I'd blame Waze, but I wasn't in my car driving...
So, I guess Collins may, in fact, be in trouble... She may be a RINO POS, but we cannot afford to lose any Senate seats... IMHO, control of the Senate is more important than some of the problem issues we have with the POS RINOs...
Both McConnell and Collins can get easily re-elected IF they jump fully aboard the Trump train.
#9. Collins is too arrogant and stupid “to embrace the Trump movement”. Hope someone from the GOP will challenge her in primary and then wage a devastating campaign against any Demorat opponent. Time to take Maine back into a loyal USA.

Was this called the 'dempleasingimpeachment' poll?
