Election 2020: A Question of 'Style' (Barf Alert!!!) 1

The presidential election in November 2020 will be close, at least from a popular vote standpoint. Even if President Trump handily defeats his Democratic challenger in the Electoral College -- whoever that challenger ends up being -- the popular vote is likely to be within a very few percentage points, one way or the other.

At first blush, the notion that President Trump would be anything other than an overwhelming victor in November seems illogical. Consider all the usual factors that determine whether or not a president is re-elected:

The Economy

By any measure, the economy is extremely strong. Unemployment is at a 50-year low. Most economists feel that at around its current 3.5%, unemployment is at its structural lower limit, that it really can’t go much lower. The employment situation is strong across all demographic sectors, with black and Hispanic unemployment at all-time historic lows and female unemployment at a half-century low. Wages are rising strongly as well, with the lower income categories showing significantly larger percentage gains than the upper income groups. Considering that inflation is still extremely modest, these wage gains translate into a real increase in purchasing power, and indeed, the consumer spending segment of the economy is quite strong.

This is great news for an incumbent president and the reality of the employment/wage picture combined with continuing strong consumer optimism flies in the face of hollow, desperate claims by Democratic presidential hopefuls that the “economy is working only for the rich, but not for the middle and lower classes and not for minorities and women.” That’s hogwash, pure and simple. Despite the Democrats’ and the liberal media’s best efforts to downplay the strong economy (HBO “comedian” Bill Maher is on record actually rooting for a recession to hurt President Trump!),

This is BS.

The entire “style” thing is made up by the lying media. President Trump is plain-spoken but he’s not truly rude or crude. The media says he is, but that doesn’t mean he is. Trump says someone is lying. The media gasps, clutches its pearls and says that such talk is over the line. But the person WAS lying. The President is simply stating the truth, stating the obvious, defending himself. That’s not a “style” problem even if the media says it is.

I do not see the voters turning away from MAGA because of the president’s “style”. I think most people actually like it.

In 2016 one of the clowns on CNN said Trump was so horrible even Kansas would turn blue.(Gosh Toto!! Oh, dear!😜😝). I say this time around he wins the popular vote as well, maybe even picking up more electoral votes.

these style-based unintellectual voters -- emotionally and rationally incapable and unwilling to connect the dots -- comprise a frighteningly large segment of the electorate.

Evidence?

Also, I LMAO at those who lament how Trump brought coarseness divisiveness and animosity to political discourse, as if there’s ever been a genuine modicum of decorum in politics to begin with. Pres Trump didn’t bring he’s EXPOSING it. And THANK G-D ALMIGHTY someone’s finally doing it.

It’s very unusual to see an article from the estimable American Thinker — my second favorite conservative site after Free Republic — get tagged with a “Barf Alert.”

Based on this clown assessment, GW Bush was the perfect President. Yet this moron notion about playing nice just about destroyed GW Bush’s Presidency

When will the hopeless clowns in the Never Trumper movement finally wake up. We are at war.

Trump is winning specifically because he DOES NOT play nice with the Democrat Fascist Party and their mindless toadies in the Fake News

It way past time that “Conservative inc” to stop being the PR whores for the Democrat Fascist Party and learn to start fighting for what they CLAIM they believe in.

I would not have put a barf alert on this article, personally.

Most of the, “style” issues are really issues for RINOs. The dumbocrats are totally lacking in style. Well, maybe not fabulous mayor Pete. He tongues his wife/husband(?) and all the illuminati swoon. I’ll just say, it’s not my style.

Angry commie Bernie has no style, unless rumpled is a style. Lieawatha in her black jumpers with accent jackets is all too similar to shrew Hillary in her Mao sack-cloth ensembles; doesn’t hide the harridan within. Plugs’ style? No malarkey, he’s totally cooking with gas! Hep and in the swim! The man is trending with new ideas!

If only the Kardashians were available for the democrat convention...

I think most people actually like it.

I wish. But you don't know the people I know. They claim to be HORRIFIED by a politician who talks the way they themselves talk with their friends. Politicians, they insist, must be "sophisticated" - like OBAMA!

Look at the overwhelming turn out for any and all of Communist Democrat candidates at their rallies then check on President Trump’s humble crowds and tell me the vote will be close. /s

It will only be close if the ComRats are given extra innings to manufacture votes.
