A liberal commentator suggested on Thursday that Hunter Biden is "going to have to take one for the team" in order for Democrats to get their desired witnesses to participate in the newly-launched Senate impeachment trial of President Trump.

Above the Law executive editor and The Nation contributor Elie Mystal appeared on the progressive outlet Democracy Now! where he discussed how former National Security Advisor John Bolton and OMB Director Mick Mulvaney should be offering their testimony since they both spoke "directly" to the president.

However, Mystal acknowledged getting their testimonies will have to come at a cost.

The Democrats, whether by conscious design or because they are being carried haplessly by the momentum of their own demagoguery, are clearly throwing Joe Biden (never mind Hunter, he was always expendable) under the bus.

The Iron Curtain of media silence about the Biden family corruption ("the matter has been investigated and he was cleared") will certainly be pierced as and when the Republicans mount their defense, especially if their defense involves the calling of witnesses. Joe Biden cannot emerge from that inquiry as a viable candidate in which it is shown that he and his son in China as well as in Ukraine, his brother in Romania, and he himself in America as champion of credit card companies, have for decades enriched themselves by selling out the country.

So why does Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the house Democrats do it? Is it because they recognize the feebleness of Joe Biden and his candidacy and would prefer to bet on another horse? Is it because they believe that the stain will not spread beyond the Biden family and besmirch the John F Kerry family? The Clinton's? The Feinstein family? The Pelosi family? And many of the rest of them? Is it that they are confident that if the stain spreads to other families it will be limited by the media to Republican families like the Mitch McConnell family?

Is it because they confidently rest on the belief that because they might be operating in technically legal territory there will be no political fallout?

Is it because they believe that so many Republicans are similarly vulnerable that they will short-circuit such a perilous public airing of the swamp's venality?
