Members of the senate took an oath on Thursday to uphold "impartial justice" as President Trump's impeachment trial gets underway.
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath to senators, who were standing at their desks on the Senate floor with their right hands raised.
"Do you solemnly swear that in all things appertaining to the trial of the impeachment of Donald John Trump, president of the United States, now pending, you will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws, so help you god?" Roberts asked senators.
Senators then walked down to the front of the chamber as their names were called to sign the oath book.
Ninety-nine senators took the oath.
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) was the only senator who missed the swearing in for the trial.

Inhofe is the only one that didn’t swear a false oath.
Impartial justice with Clinton meant not letting the House present a case.
With Trump it will mean keeping the Democrats happy, giving them their every desire and making their case for them if necessary.

Yep. GOP controlled Senate just validated the Stalinist show trial garbage from the House Dems. They had 3 months to impeach it and didn’t lift a finger. The House Dems impeached POTUS on their schedule and at their leisure.
They’ll all lie about everything. They’re lawyers and politicians, that’s what they do for a living. Few have had a real job in their lives.
What makes you think they care about any “conflict of interest?” Yeah, there is one: they want to be president, and Trump is the current president.
