Impeachment Is Not the Issue, It's the 2020 Election: Democrats drive the narrative because so many Republicans in Congress are gullible.

If you listen to Republicans, the impeachment of President Trump is a “bizarre strategy,” a partisan political blunder by the Democrats, doomed to fail in the Senate, and already backfiring. As evidence, the “hit job” has energized the Republican base, boosted GOP fundraising and, come November, will cause House Democrats in Trump districts to lose re-election.

To think House Democrats actually believe Trump committed impeachable offenses grossly underestimates their political acumen. The Democrats regularly run circles around the Republicans. While the latter jumps pieces on a checkerboard, the Democrats are thinking three steps ahead, looking to checkmate the king.

The Republicans mistakenly believe the issue is always about the stated issue. They ignore political strategist Saul Alinsky, author of Rules for Radicals, who stated, “The issue is never the issue.” For Democrats, impeaching the president has never been the issue. The issue is the 2020 election.

Here’s the political map facing the Democrats. The economy is roaring, unemployment is at an all-time low for black Americans, Hispanic Americans, and women – key Democrat voting groups. Trump is hugely popular with his base, attracting enormous crowds at rallies. He’s moving his agenda forward, getting trade deals done, expanding the economy, building the wall, destroying terrorists.

What do the Democrats offer voters in response? High taxes, open borders, gun confiscation, abolishing ICE, uprooting the electoral college, restricting free speech, a Green New Deal, free health care for illegal aliens, scrubbing bail for crimes, and more – all loony left issues that scare the bejesus out of middle America. Making matters worse, the leading Democrat presidential candidates are a bust, uninspiring talking heads who can barely muster a respectable crowd in far-left districts.

No; they are well aware of it.

It always easier to destroy than to build, to cheat rather than follow the rules. While evil thinks itself strong, it’s the meek who have the strength to follow the law.

The pubs are not spineless, they are meek. An admirable trait. Humility always seems weaker than pride.

But is Pelosi strong, or full of Schiff?

If our elected representatives don’t respond proportionately to the democrats in a manner representing our outrage over what they have been doing, that leaves only one choice. Virginia is already trying to get out in front of it.

Those are thinly-veiled pleas for Hillary to get in, don’t you think?

Do you have any idea how much in laundering state department cash Trump has choked at this point? Billions upon billions. The deep state is driving the democrats to get the money flowing again. Multiply Ukraine by 100.

Let’s see how well the democrats do with half their candidates tied up in the hearings six days a week for 6 or 7 or 10 months.

Here’s what my Rep, Cheri Bustos who is chair of the DCCC just spewed out:

Cheri Bustos
@CheriBustos

With fewer than 300 days to Election Day, we just announced the addition of 6 key districts to the @dccc’s offensive battlefield: #AKAL, #CA25, #KS02, #NC08, #NJ02 and #TX02.

I’ve been saying this for months.

The Dems have been having trouble raising money and have horrible candidates, so they’re using the House to run their 2020 campaign and letting the taxpayers fund it

Lack of courage is the problem, not gullibility. A friend of mine with long experience as a GOP staffer on the Hill and who is now an attorney and lobbyist in DC refers to the GOP House and Senate members as “the rabbits.” Relentlessly hammered by the news media and the Democrats, they are so intimidated that, with rare exceptions, they are unwilling to confront them. To a degree, Trump is now changing that.

There was already testimony that the aid was not withheld. You have to understand why John Solomon left this rag.

Bustos added: “House Democrats are on offense, prepared to protect and expand a House Majority that fights for the American people.

Our record fundraising gives us the ability to push deeper into Republican territory and hold them accountable for their attacks on working families’ health care.”

“Record Fundraising” - she says.

He has exposed them for what they are corrupt

They will not convict him in the senate..they will aquit...

but they can drag it out..(the rinos). and hope Trumps poll numbers tank and he loses the election..

Then they can say we had nothing to do with his loss..we aquited him..

That GAO report is comical on its face. The funds were never withheld, and in fact they were released in September 2019 specifically to meet the funding obligations by the end of the Federal fiscal year on September 30th.

"My money is on corrupt, which is why I think Trump is in danger of being removed."

Agree, and if Trump is removed, it is time to burn it all down, hence the incredible drive to remove guns from the citizenry.

My take is that it’s about SCOTUS and other judicial appointments.

Assume Dems think that they can (or will) win in November. I tend to think they’re misreading the tea leaves on that unless they’ve substantially improved their vote fraud operation, but assume that’s what they think. RBG’s about two breaths from death. Normal Dem-speak would be that a POTUS under impeachment shouldn’t have any judicial nominees voted on, which most would see through, maybe some LIVs would buy it, and most importantly, would give the Dem wing of the GOP (Wrongme, Collins, etc.) sufficient cover to act all thoughtful and not process (or vote against) the nominee.

Then RBG finally falls over and President Buttboy (shudder at the phrase) nominates Joseph Goebbels or whomever as the replacement. I think that’s their game here.

My money is on corrupt, which is why I think Trump is in danger of being removed.

**************

The media will be releasing an avalanche of negative news for the next couple of weeks not to mention some “October Surprise” like tactics that the Dems will no doubt conjure up. While its unlikely they will succeed in removing him, they (and some of the Republicans) will fully exploit every opportunity to weaken Trump politically.

What worries me is that the Dems are crafty tacticians and they are totally unified and committed to this coup. Make no mistake, they are going to keep hammering away as long as Trump is in office. We are nowhere near the end of their unrestrained efforts to remove him. Basically its “Get Trump” at all costs, even at the risk of losing the House in 2020.

And they know full well how to manipulate and control the feckless Republicans. The game is a long way from being over.
