So when I go to a baseball game it doesn’t “start” until I get there? So if I arrive in the third inning it’s really the first inning no matter what the team has been doing? And the guy that arrives in the 7th inning stretch. It’s his first inning, too?

How about a more apt analogy: You get to an office and find out half the folks before you were not apt to do good filing, many put up fake data to keep you from finding out what had really been going on, and you couldn’t trust 90% of the available data so you had to dig through current files, go through desks and computer storage and anything else that could be used to collect data to assemble a base package of data. Then you had to do investigation with someone you trusted to try to verify/debunk/delete/add data to get the clearest picture available, only you know there is still much that may not be correct because the previous folks threw millions of distractions and obfuscations in your way.
You gonna start prosecuting before the web has a lot of the kinks out of it - knowing that some of the data is still wrong and will be debunked in the process and that you will also be giving your hand away to others while you’re at it?
Maybe you imagine Barr got a neat package with a bow around it and all he had to do was review it and start taking actions...some of the items will be so twisted that there would be no legal way to prosecute - if you’re an honest prosecutor.
Preet Bahara doesn’t seem to have any problem finding people like Parnas and he seems to be able to get them arrested, indicted, and squealing like a pig in front of TV cameras. And all in just a few weeks. Maybe Preet Bahara should be AG?
Or are you suggesting Bahara is a corrupt prosecutor? Would AG Barr tolerate a corrupt prosecutor as head of the FBI’s SDNY?
