A new poll commissioned by The Club for Growth PAC, a conservative advocacy group, shows that nearly half of West Virginia voters would view Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) more negatively if he votes to remove President Trump from office.
The survey shows that Manchin, who won election to a third term in 2018, could face strong political blowback if he votes to convict Trump on one or two articles of impeachment passed by the Democratic-controlled House.
The survey of 500 likely voters in West Virginia found that 48 percent would have a less favorable view of Manchin if he votes to convict Trump while only 20 percent would have a more favorable view.
Thirty-two percent of likely voters said Manchins vote would make no difference to their view of Manchin.
The poll generally shows overwhelming opposition to removing Trump from office. Nearly seven in ten 69 percent West Virginia voters said they oppose doing so while only 27 percent voiced support.
Overall, 67 percent of West Virginia voters approve of the job Trump is doing while 31 percent dont approve and 2 percent had no opinion.
Trump, who won West Virginia in the 2016 presidential election by 42 points, beats two of the top 2020 Democratic candidates handily. The president leads former Vice President Joe Biden 66 percent to 31 percent and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) 66 percent to 29 percent in hypothetical matchups in the Mountain State.
The poll also found a plurality of voters would view Manchin more favorably if he changed his party affiliation to Republican.
Forty-three percent of voters said they would view Manchin more favorably if he were a Republican while 27 percent said they would see him less favorably and 30 percent said it wouldnt make a difference.
Pollster Byron Allen conducted the survey for Club for Growth PAC.
Expect Manchin to be a NO vote.
only a very few scumbag rinos will risk their political careers by voting against the President- Everyone knows this trial and impeachment are BS- and anyone that votes against this president over this nonsense will very likely lose their seats (with the exception of those states that keep voting in the scum rinos)
I think Sinema might vote against as well.
Ya think?
Joe already knew that.
President Trump is more popular in WV than almost any other state.
The president is far too popular with voters- I don’t see even thick headed rinos voting against the President on this- they love their ‘money for nothing’ cushy jobs too much
He should just cross the aisle once and for all, and be done with it.
I’m more worried about Capito’s vote than Manchin’s
I’ve expected him to switch sides for years.
I agree, and it looks like now is the time to do it.

That idiot Bloomturd is running pro-Obamacare commercials which start out by showing a picture of President Trump.
The voice narrating the so-called campaign ad then says, “People are sick of Donald Trump.”
Like hell we are! He’s of the best presidents ever!
Wouldn't count on it. He's not up for re-election until 2024. The worst that could happen to him would be a recall, and the Republican candidates that have run against him in the past have been horrible.
DUH!... Manchin will never vote to Convict... He knows his political career/ambitions are done if he does.
I would keep an eye on Jeanne Shaheen in NH.
Trump will almost certainly take NH, and while she’s a pretty loyal lefty... If she doesn’t think her re-election is truly in jeopardy if she convicts, she’s a fool... as are few other D’s in states that Trump took or almost took in 16, that are up for re-election in 2020.
This thing will never get 100% Democrat support in the Senate, let alone 67 votes... its a joke, and has been from day one and everyone knows it
So will others who protect this country.
Manchin’s not up for re-election until 2024. Like he cares.
Absolutely. We probably have 3 democrats who will vote with republicans. Now question is how many republicans vote with democrats?
Joe Manchin is to the U.S. Senate what Rep. Colin Peterson of Minnesota’s 7th district is to the House.
Joe would be smart to change sides...
