The plot thickens with the 2A battle in Virginia.
West Virginia is now early in the process of inviting Virginias counties to secede and be annexed to West Virginia.
WSET reports that the first official invitation has been delivered to Frederick County, VA.
The West Virginia Senate adopted a resolution by voice vote Monday to remind residents of Frederick County, Virginia, that the county has a standing invite from 1862 to become part of West Virginia. It now goes to the House of Delegates.

Being a Native Californian, in some elections (almost all) I have a choice between 2 demonrats and an assortment of real weirdos, I will always vote for the weirdest freakazoid on the state ballot just so I don’t add to a ratbastard demonrats vote total.
The Tennessee River thing was during a time of severe drought in N. Ga. forcing water rationing in Atlanta. There was some (sort of) good-natured sparring going on in the respective state houses

The Constitution addresses this question. Any transference of territory from one state to another requires approval of both Congress and the state legislatures. It has happened twice, West Virginia formed from Virginia, and Maine from Mass.
Love it!
(But really, all this crap could have been prevented if more conservatives had gotten up off the couch and voted last year, as far as I know.)
