In my hypothetical Amendment, I would do away with "non-binding resolutions."

Easy-to-understand language, two pages, yes or no, three missed votes without a proper excuse results in expulsion, no more than 8 years in office, and once you hold federal office in any position, you may not run for anything else for the rest of your life. Aforementioned term limits, as well as a limit on the number of days they shall be in session, with exceptions to declare war.

There's more, but I need to go to sleep.

I disagree with this, unless we extend this time limit to the civil service aka Deep State. Otherwise, legislators are just puppets dancing on the Deep State’s strings.

So if one were in the military—a federal office—especially as an officer—you couldn’t hold office?

This is the reason amendments are so difficult. Keep it simple: Two terms senate, five in the house. Ten years is enough.
