Nothing to worry about from Ted, I have no idea who “whiner” is supposed to be, but there may be enough Republicans who want to call witnesses that it just might happen.
Collins, Murkowksi, Gardner, Romney, Lee, Alexander and maybe one or two others. Maybe there will be a couple of Dems who will vote against witnesses (like Manchin or Jones), but I guess we will have to just wait to find out.
IMO, they should finish the debacle with calling no witnesses. Having witnesses testify would just lend credence to this fraudulent proceeding that it doesn’t deserve.

There are some Republican Senators who didn’t like Donald Trump because they feared he would lose and bring down the Republican Party with him. Those fears have been proven to be completely unfounded.
There are a few Republican Senators who still hold grudges, are jealous, or who are otherwise against the President. If these Republicans could safely find a way to get a different Republican President (Pence?), perhaps they would, as long as it wouldn’t damage the party as a whole.
But if you think their dislike the President would cause any of any of these Republican Senators to aid the Democrats in their fake impeachment coup attempt against a Republican President, you are mad.
This coup attempt is an insult not just to the President and the people who voted for him, but also the the entire Republican Party. They will all work together to quickly and firmly put the Democrats in their place.
In fact, they will make it hurt - some of them may not particularly like the President, but there aren’t any who want the Democrats to have even a moral victory here.
Instead they will want to give the Democrats a good beat down in preparation for 2020. Even Romney will see that it is the Republican Party that is under attack here.
