POTUS wants a dismissal. But Cruz & the GOP Senate knows best. They are insisting on a trial. Is there anything more useless on this planet than the US Senate?
It’s infuriating to now see the GOP Senate insist on a pro forma two week trial after REFUSING for 4 MONTHS to gather any facts on the hoaxblower impeachment conspiracy. They are doing POTUS no favors here.

The dude is either going to say “I supported Trump in his invest into Biden per 15 USC 78dd-118 [Foreign Corrupt Practices Act] or 18 USC 201(b) [Bribery] or Gratuities (18 USC 201(c) and/or Extortion (18 USC 1951); OR he’s going to say “Burn it all”.
The tantrum reply was telling. Cruz and Trump have buried the hatchet, yet some prefer to keep the feud going. Which one helps us in 2020 and which one hurts us ?

Exactly, it was a nasty campaign on everyone’s part- but they were both mature enough to get over it, and work together for the good of the country- -
Duh.
There are some Republican Senators who didn’t like Donald Trump because they feared he would lose and bring down the Republican Party with him. Those fears have been proven to be completely unfounded.
There are a few Republican Senators who still hold grudges, are jealous, or who are otherwise against the President. If these Republicans could safely find a way to get a different Republican President (Pence?), perhaps they would, as long as it wouldn’t damage the party as a whole.
But if you think their dislike the President would cause any of any of these Republican Senators to aid the Democrats in their fake impeachment coup attempt against a Republican President, you are mad.
This coup attempt is an insult not just to the President and the people who voted for him, but also the the entire Republican Party. They will all work together to quickly and firmly put the Democrats in their place.
In fact, they will make it hurt - some of them may not particularly like the President, but there aren’t any who want the Democrats to have even a moral victory here.
Instead they will want to give the Democrats a good beat down in preparation for 2020. Even Romney will see that it is the Republican Party that is under attack here.
Because Romney wants to hear from Bolton, which wont happen anyway since Trump is going to invoke executive privilege..so its a waste of time
